Oh, and Ana Matronic was pretty good last night. I loved how much Sara Cox treated it like a joke - so it's a shame she wasn't there, but for professional purposes, Ana was good and humorous.

I thought Ana was hit and miss, she seemed pretty respectful of it all but on the other hand I thought a lot of her jokes fell a bit flat.
Well, no one beats Norway's commentator Synnøve Svabø in 2009. Her first and only time! Thankfully! The next day most people talked about her comments, rather than Alex Rybak's victory! :P

That was pretty mean leaving The Netherlands until last. Random order, yeah right....

I think I celebrated as much for the Netherlands as I did for Ireland last night.

I laughed more at the Netherlands getting through than anything else.

Just watching the performances on YouTube as I was out last night. That 'Euphoria' beat at the beginning of each song got annoying very quickly.

I'm surprised Serbia didn't qualify, was quite a catchy song and was well sung. I wonder if it was the hideous styling and early slot that let them down.

EDIT

Just realised they were 16th, was thinking they were in the right order on YouTube

A couple more comments about last night's semi final! The overall show was amazing and I really loved the postcards and the graphics, especially the butterflies that flew into each country's postcard which was really clever! I liked how the showed the remaining countries yet to qualify which is always something I forget in the moment!

Also, Despina's performance for Cyprus was amazing! Such a shame she didn't get through, vocals were brilliant and it really stood out for me. I liked the comment from the Estonian head of delegation in the qualifiers press conference when they said that there is no politics in Eurovision and its all about the music as they still qualified without their neighbours Finland and Latvia who are in the other semi. Finally, the funniest comment from our commentators last night was Ana's comment about Dina looking like a Kardashian but obviously not being one due to the fact Dina is actually talented! Dina was fantastic and joined Emmelie and Despina in my top 3 from last night!

Can't wait for tomorrow! :cheer:

I think I prefer it in a non-random order, if it is. It was such a letdown last year having the whole golden envelope for the last qualifiers, and having it go to Turkey and Ireland who you could both see qualifying from a mile off...

I loved it! It was up there with 2011's heartbeat for giving the beginning of each song an EVENT feel.

Me too. It signified the beginning of each song. Like TAKE YO SEATS BITCHES IT'S ABOUT 2 START. Very useful.

I didn't even realise they had an 'entrance sound' this time round! And even watching the performances again from the semi I still can't hear anything
It's right after the postcards accompanied by the stage screen lighting up.
It's like 'DOOOOOOOOOOOONG', shut up bitches it's starting!
