I'm much more involved this year as I've put a few bets on. Really rooting for Germany and Norway.
I'd be surprised at Azerbaijan winning - I know it's not how the contest works, and sounds cynical of me, but I just can't see them winning twice in three years. The staging really isn't ground breaking either, it's nice and effective, but it's nothing that'd make me stand up and be like WHOA.

Still think it's Denmark's to lose, and sorry to sound like a broken record but if Norway is it's main competition, then please please please Denmark.

Well Norway last won in 2009 also :P And with Germany also a contender, there are a few recent winners that could do it again :P

I'm certain that Denmark or Norway have this stitched up, although I see them both getting votes from different 'blocs'. "I Feed You My Love" sounds more western-appealing, whilst "Only Teardrops" has the eastern appeal (which contains many more countries). I just want a Scandi win, and I'll be happy! :P

The staging is what is making people think Azerbaijan is going to win, surely? The song's decent, but it's clearly nothing on "Drip Drop" and "Running Scared" *.*

Not necessarily. From the first time I heard Azerbaijan I said it would be a serious contender for the win. It's a very big, traditional Eurovision ballad and it was always going to score whether or not the staging was good.

What about Anouk?

She was amazing and got a very good reaction, her staging is beautiful. I'm sitting waiting for the final now, I have dire seats but that's ok because I saw everything earlier in the standing area.

Apparently we're getting a VIDEO OF BONNIE TYLER instead of the interval :manson:

:/

The interval is incredible, watch it online so you don't miss it.

And there, we are left with Denmark! It's a very stupid thought I have, as it has nothing to do with how long ago someone has won obviously.

I can see Romania coming top 10 at least actually. :o And I think Hungary will surprise and could finish in the top half!
I wouldn't be shocked at a top 5 for Romania, now that's something that I've felt momentum for. I still think the song is awful but he sings the hell out of it and the performance is an event (my mum loves it too). 'Suus' of 2013?
I think Romania will do well too, everyone in Sweden loves it! Went down incredibly well in the dress rehearsal, maybe second only to Sweden :o I don't know why people hate it, it sounds like a textbook hi-NRG Icelandic entry except with higher pitched vocals!
Greece is looking like finishing top 5 at least now I think too! :o
It's going to be really interesting to see where all the Balkan votes go to this evening. Hungary and Romania might soak up a few.

I don't think the Balkan people will vote for Hungary. Georgia, Armenia, Romania and Greece will get their votes.

Not everyone can make the top five Ryan! Has anyone actually said that they really love the Azeri entry though? A lot of it seems like it's what everyone is predicting/hyping up but not a lot actually want it to happen! Obviously it's still going to come top ten but I think it'll be around 6th/7th rather than being a contender. Still think it's Denmark's to lose. That semi performance could easily have been it's final performance just after it's won the whole thing. Also Romania is growing on me by the hour  It's not even THAT novelty, just something that you will definitely remember!

Off to the sitting room now with homemade pizza (totally supporting Italy *.*) so good luck with Bonnie, you guys! :D I'll be crying into my mozzarella by the time Ryan Dolan ends up in 23rd place.

I was the only person who liked Sabina last year and she still came home in 4th!

Main reason I don't like it is that it doesn't sound like anything except high pitched warbling noise.

It sounds more like he's sending signals to the mothership than speaking any human language.

Personally I think Azerbaijan is going to flop. I'd love to say the same will happen for Georgia...but I think they'll do pretty well (at least top ten, if not top five)

She was one of three or four entries to make my end of year chart!! It just didn't click until just before the contest and then her stunning performance really sold it.

But the host nation's entry always does fairly well! They don't have that advantage now, and now that Sweden does they're basically guaranteed top ten!
