May 18, 201312 yr Delighted for Denmark and great to see Norway doing well. A real shame about Cascada, I guess it was just too much like 'Euphoria' for it to do really well. A really good show on the whole, loved the interval! The voting had a few problems, especially announcing the winner with votes still to come in. I know they couldn't be caught, I just thought it wasn't the right thing to do.
May 18, 201312 yr Poor Ireland! Most of my favourites did shit actually, so all in all, the results were pretty shit. Germany, Finland and Ireland were my top 3, and all came in the bottom 10! :(
May 18, 201312 yr From ESCxtra Semifinal 1 167 Denmark 156 Russia 140 Ukraine 095 Moldova 075 Belgium 075 Netherlands 064 Belarus 054 Ireland 053 Lithuania 052 Estonia — 046 Serbia 041 Montenegro 038 Croatia 027 Austria 011 Cyprus 008 Slovenia Poor Serbia and Montenegro again :( My guess San Marino were 11th in the 2nd semi

San Marino – 47 12. Bulgaria – 45 13. Switzerland – 41 14. Israel – 40 15. Albania – 31 16. FYR Macedonia – 28 17. Latvia – 13
May 18, 201312 yr Okay I know we weren't THAT GREAT but LAST? REALLY? When I saw Azerbaijan and Ukraine raking up points I was glad to see Denmark steamrolling ahead. Fantastic winner! <3 Also delighted for Hungary! :D But I thought it was a bit RUDE to do the whole 'winner' thing with a few sets of votes left. THIS! Thought Finland should've done better, very Katy Perry-like. So what number did we come? The random announcement of the winner was bizarre, but obviously done to save time and get her on stage faster.
May 18, 201312 yr Well, all in all, I'm happy with Denmark winning. I've been listening to that song since January so maybe that's why the appeal has slightly dulled for me but Western Europe/Scandinavia clocking up a fourth win in five years is really good! Copenhagen 2014 bitches!
May 18, 201312 yr Thought it'd be worth posting the final standings for ease: 1 Denmark 281 2 Azerbaijan 234 3 Ukraine 214 4 Norway 191 5 Russia 174 6 Greece 152 7 Italy 126 8 Malta 120 9 The Netherlands 114 10 Hungary 84 11 Moldova 71 12 Belgium 71 13 Romania 65 14 Sweden 62 15 Georgia 51 16 Belarus 48 17 Iceland 47 18 Armenia 41 19 United Kingdom 23 20 Estonia 19 21 Germany 18 22 Lithuania 17 23 France 14 24 Finland 13 25 Spain 8 26 Ireland 5
May 18, 201312 yr I wasn't mad about the song that won, but I thought the girl herself was really cute. The interval act with the song about Sweden was good, what a fun idea!
May 18, 201312 yr My facebook and twitter is full of people saying we should pull out as we didn't win. I'm really tempted to go on a rant. When the BBC decide to enter a brilliant song, we might stand a chance. If people are gonna rant, they need to rant about BBC - not the Eastern Eurotastic voting block.

You know as much as I hate to admit it, there really were numerous occasions were I was saying Ukraine and Azerbaijan before they announced them as the 12 points. The majority of the Eastern bloc are painfully predictable with their 12's. Edited May 18, 201312 yr by Sabrewulf
May 18, 201312 yr Was surprised at how amateur Sweden were as hosts. Aww, I thought their presenting was perfect for Eurovision. Petra showed more personality in one minute than Azerbaijan showed in one evening last year. I know some countries take Eurovision seriously but I thought the balance between fun, entertaining and serious was spot on.

The majority of the Eastern bloc are painfully predictable with their 12's. So the UK should forget the Eastern European voting block and enter a song that'd appeal to the rest of Europe. I'm sure UK could win Eurovision without getting points from Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Albania etc... I even think if the UK sent Hurts this year, we wouldn't have fared much better. :(

May 18, 201312 yr Yeah I found the hosting was so much better than usual! I wasn't too sure on Petra in the first semi final, but I got to understand her and was loving her by the final! The contest was nearly perfect on Sweden's behalf if it wasn't for a few technical problems during the voting. I didn't particularly mind Denmark being announced as the winner before the voting had finished once I'd realised what they were doing so they could get her performing ASAP.
May 18, 201312 yr Was surprised at how amateur Sweden were as hosts. Do you mean Eric? He was a bit of a twat but Petra was professional all the way and funny and brilliant. It was everything I could have expected from Sweden, they do know how to do stuff like this so very very well.
