Until this thread I didn't realise a-ha had released so many hit singles  I've only heard the 2 most obvious a-ha hits, Take On Me and The Sun Always Shines On T.V - but both are brilliant!

Hunting High and Low is probably my fave Aha track, so good to see it fairly high up in the countdown considering its peak.

52. IN THE SHADOWS- The Rasmus (194,000)

http://991.com/newGallery/The-Rasmus-In-The-Shadows-282727.jpg

YEAR: 2004

PEAK POSITION: 3

WKS ON CHART: 16

A song with 3 different videos to promote it (European/ US/ and UK) the Rasmus were going to be the next big thing for about 5 minutes in 2004. Again the UK was slow on the uptake this becoming a hit all over Europe in 2003, the band actually reaching their 5th album by the time UK success came along.

51. JOYRIDE- Roxette (194,000)

YEAR: 1991

PEAK POSITION: 4

WKS ON CHART: 10

Much like George Michael who got the inspiration for “Wake Me Up Before You Go Go” from a note left on his fridge by Ridgeley, so to for Gessle who got the line “Hello You Fool I love You” from a note left by his girlfriend. That turned into “Joyride” which became their last top 5 hit here and a final No 1 in the US.

Love "Joyride", but god that video is the creme de la creme of crap early '90s videos.

"In The Shadows" was fun at the time of release, though I don't think much of it now.

Anyway, Don't You Worry Child for #1 please!

Great chart so far :yahoo:

I've got my own little three-way chart battle (assuming all three of these songs made the top 50). Which of these songs will have the most sales?

"Save Tonight" by Eagle Eye Cherry

"It's Oh So Quiet" by Bjork

"Big Big World" by Emilia

01. Aqua - My Oh My

02. ABBA - Dancing Queen

03. ABBA - I Have A Dream

07. Ace of Base - Don't Turn Around

08. Ace Of Base - Beautiful Life

How could anyone say St Loreen is their worst song on their list???

If they don't like it.

Could someone explain me how a person thinks that Collide is a bad song (When it has superb vocals) when he listens Aqua..I can't laugh because it freaks me out..

50. ANOTHER DAY- Whigfield (197,000)

http://991.com/newGallery/Whigfield-Another-Day-178241.jpg

YEAR: 1994

PEAK POSITION: 7

WKS ON CHART: 10

Pitched by some as a contender for the Christmas No 1 spot in 1994 this was of course the follow up to “Saturday Night” and is pretty much a re-run of that song. It does have the honour of being an early example of the song writing skills of late 90s popstar Ann Lee, her of “2 Times” fame.

49. LITTLE TALKS- Of Monsters And Men (201,800)

YEAR: 2012

PEAK POSITION: 12

WKS ON CHART: 16

The newest name in Scandipop, Of Monsters and Men broke through here last year with the album “My Head Is An Animal” and this track which was already well within the top 100 in the US by the time it was a hit here. The band only formed in 2010 and won Iceland’s “battle of the bands” competition “Musiktilraunir” that same year on the road to success.

Discovered in a music contest Leila K was offered the chance of rapping on this Rob N Raz track in late 1989 and proved an unexpected hit as Christmas approached. Featuring a sample of Sheila E’s “Love Bizarre” to assist in making it a hit, it finally went top 10 in the new year shakedown in January 1990.

Haha, "Got To Get It" is cute. For some reason, I never knew it was a UK hit. :D

"Another Day" and "Little Talks" are both good. Hopefully we'll see Whigfield's "Think Of You" soon. :cheer:
