June 10, 201312 yr A Swedish three piece. "Big Big World" is so catchy, I don't care how cheesy it is. :D
June 10, 201312 yr And. It. Hurts. With. Ev. Er. Y. Heart. Beat. :D As weird as it sounds, I'll always remember the reaction on ChC Media when Radio 1 announced Robyn & Kleerup were no. 1
June 10, 201312 yr With Every Heartbeat is amazing, although it is slightly overrated on this forum. I mean, it's hardly as if it's the best song ever (although it is one of my favourites, it's just not probably "up" there for me)! Edited June 10, 201312 yr by Griff
June 10, 201312 yr :D As weird as it sounds, I'll always remember the reaction on ChC Media when Radio 1 announced Robyn & Kleerup were no. 1 WEH  indeed! I think the Buzzjack reaction was pretty happy as well (it was for me anyway!).
June 10, 201312 yr With Every Heartbeat is amazing  I didn't realise Cry For You had outsold it, it doesn't deserve to as WEH is better. Sadly, the better of the two Smalltown Boy sampling hits seems to have missed the top 100 (Supermode (aka Steve Angello & Axwell from Swedish House Mafia) - Tell Me Why) :(
June 10, 201312 yr 3 legendary singles in a row for me  With Every Heartbeat is one of the best UK #1's EVER, I was astounded when that reached the summit here, what a comeback for a middling 90s teen-pop star! And Cry For You was excellent too, and it was great to see September have a bit of success here.
June 11, 201312 yr Author 29. BEGGIN- Madcon (311,000) http://www.musicchartheaven.com/ost/madcon-beggin_s_1.jpg YEAR: 2008 PEAK POSITION: 5 WKS ON CHART: 36 At 36 wks in the top 75 nothing can compare to this track in the longevity stakes though it’s a song that took over 30 years to finally be a UK hit. The original by Frankie Valli & Four Seasons was released in 1967 without troubling us but was given a dance overall by French DJ pilooski who steered the remix top 40 in 2007, and just 12 months later Madcon found themselves with a top 5 hit though they re-recorded rather than just sampled. It also appeared as a Saturday’s B-side SWE: 11 NOR: 1 8YVrnLa8V8M

ONE (YOUR NAME)- Swedish House Mafia Featuring Pharrell (330,200) http://theneptunes.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Swedish-House-Mafia-One-CDS-2010.jpg RELEASED: 2010 PEAK POSITION: 7 WKS ON CHART: 18 With vocals and lyrics courtesy of a certain Pharrell the vocal was intended for a different track which SHF altered to fit the melody of “One”. Some have said the video is a dig at Guetta for creating a track called “50 Degrees” which uses the synth line from “One” or at least a very similar one! SWE: 11 DEN: 20 PkQ5rEJaTmk
June 11, 201312 yr Author 27. FROM PARIS TO BERLIN- Infernal (348,000) http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/483/parisnx0.jpg RELEASED: 2006 PEAK POSITION: 2 WKS ON CHART: 23 Plugging away in their homeland since 1997 they hadn’t troubled the UK until this track in 2006 which was only denied the top spot by Gnarls Barkley. Some sales were generated by an “alternative” version of the song for the World Cup that year entitled “From London to Berlin”, less successful was their follow up “Self Control” a cover of a track taken to the top 10 by Laura Branigan in 1984. June 11, 201312 yr "From Paris To Berlin" and "One"  Great stuff, especially Infernal's track. It definitely stood out from the rest of chart music back in 2006, that and the Rogue Traders' "Voodoo Child"! Speaking of which, would an Australian best sellers list be possible many months down the line? :P

SWE: 11 DEN: 20 PkQ5rEJaTmk Definitely the best song on this list. SHM started on a high and finished on a low for me (with a bit of fluctuation in the middle) but an almost flawless discography. If only this was released now maybe it'd have been bigger, thanks to a certain Mr. Williams :P (And I suppose the fact it wouldn't be their debut single). Edited June 11, 201312 yr by Bré

SANDSTORM- Darude (359,000) http://www.snowdiggity.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/darude-sandstorm.jpg RELEASED: 2000 PEAK POSITION: 3 WKS ON CHART: 15 When this song entered the charts at No 3 in 2000 it became the highest placed track by a Finnish act ever (only one Finnish act had EVER charted previously), an accolade it held for just over a month. It was another song that took over 6 months to make it over the North sea to us but was a familiar track on the clubscene of that summer. SWE: 6 NOR: 1 FIN: 3 GdvJBbcj7-U

With a promo set, just like Darude, in Helsinki, it also namechecks none other than Celine Dion in the lyrics and topped the Swedish charts for 10 weeks! it also remains the biggest selling single ever in the UK from a Finnish act! June 12, 201312 yr Author 24. 7 SECONDS- Youssou N’Dour & Neneh Cherry (402,000) http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/b/b8/7_seconds.jpg YEAR: 1994 PEAK POSITION: 3 WKS ON CHART: 25 One of the few tracks to chart in the UK sung in three languages, in this case Senegalese, English, and French, this served as lead track on N’Dour’s 7th album though it did surface on Cherry’s album “Woman” in 1996. N’dour was first noticed on Peter Gabriel’s 1986 album “So” and in 2012 stood for election as president of Senegal before being disqualified due to some “irregularities” in the signatures he obtained for his nomination. Somewhat unusually for the mid 90s it took a whooping 12 weeks to reach its peak. SWE: 3 NOR: 4 wqCpjFMvz-k
June 12, 201312 yr Another batch of classics there. "7 Seconds" is still proper GORGEOUS and "Sandstorm" hasn't lost any of its charm!
