'Graffiti on the Train' is so close to the Top 40! :o

It was a pity because I think it was the last chance to get Stereophonics a second UK top 40 single this year. :(

Well it's the first time it's charted if you still insist on only counting the top 75 as 'charted'. It entered the top 100 two weeks ago giving it a chart run to date of 93-77-60 :P

 

I do personally even though I know other people define other boundaries as being the 'hit' cut off point. The 'records' regarding Brown Eyed Girl's non charting referred only to the top 75. Singles chart books, Polyhex etc... :P I wouldn't regard Margaret Berger as getting a hit single this week but Robin Stjernberg has.

 

I also use the Top 75 only at the moment, for the same reasons as gooddelta

Stereophonics always suffer badly from the weekend effect for some reason. Both GOTT and IS made good progress towards the Top 40 itunes chart on a Tues, Wed & Thurs then get knocked down come Friday and through the weekend, then they have to start all over again on Monday. IS only managed a week Top 40 when the album got released and there was 3 versions available, the highest version was about #26 at one point. As I've said, they've done well this era & It will be interesting to see what single 3 will be from the album. Would be nice for GOTT to go Top 40 though, but it's done far better than what I predicted. I didn't think it would go Top 100 tbh.

What a sad sentence. :(

Texas have happily shocked me, improved on the mid-week position in the album chart when i fully expected them to drop and also i never expected them to enter the top 75 singles chart, this has cheered me up.

 

Stereophonics are doing quiet well with this era even the singles are managing to go top 75, climb and actually stay for a few weeks, the album has held up ever so well so which is pleasing to say the least after the disaster of their last album.

Thanks Bre that will be helpful - a bit like Goodelta et al I consider the top75 the main chart so the numbers help!

Top 100 albums updated. I've had to rely on flatdeejay to have got the top 75 weeks correct for Bob Marley and ABBA, I did download the Chartstats archive but there's no way I'm searching through 400+ weeks to see how many are #76-100 :P

Lose Control :wub: it may have died at Eurovision but at least the British public saw the light. I guess before the download era it's unlikely that many more entries other than the UK entries and the winner would have been released as singles here so I doubt it's ever happened before.

I loved 'Lose Control', was rather shocked at the time to see it come last.

It was pretty diabolical live to say the least. The studio version is amazing, was my ringtone for three years!

The Chris Rea album's just a budget-priced compilation. There are usually one or two that rattle in and out of the lower end of the chart in the summer as overall sales fluctuate. Piece Of The Action by Meat Loaf springs to mind.
