Oh am I the only person who LIKES 'Mylo Xyloto' then? Psshht.

'Talk' is a bizarre winner, not a standout in their catalogue at ALL. And I echo the general displeasement (is that even a word) at 'Fix You' missing the top 10. WHAT

Nope I love it as an album (way better then the VLV album which was only saved by the addition of Prospekt's March).

I like Mylo Xyloto as well but it's let down by some crappy songs.

Mylo Xyloto is a very good album, not incredible, but definitely solid throughout. I would say its an improvement on Viva La Vida

I'm gutted that "Trouble" isn't top ten! The piano riff is absolutely gorgeous, it's by far my favourite song of theirs  "Violet Hill" is my least-favourite single from Viva La Vida..., but it's still very good. It was rightfully overlooked by "Viva La Vida" in the chart though. I'm not a huge fan of "Every Teardrop..." anymore, I'd rank it third/fourth of the Mylo Xyloto singles. "Paradise" got a bit irritating around the turn of the last new year, but I definitely appreciate it as an anthem now. "Clocks" is probably my second-favourite song of theirs overall, another gorgeous piano riff, and one that inspired one of my favourite dance songs of all time. "The Scientist" would also be in my top five songs, I think it's the song that introduced me to their back catalogue (having been most familiar from Viva La Vida... onwards). It probably says a lot that I have no recollection of how "Talk" goes, what did I rate it as?

Thank you for compiling the results with such good effort and style, T(h?)om! T'was a thoroughly enjoyable read :D

You rated Talk as 9/10, hmmmm.... :P (no 'h' :hitler: )

With that in mind, here's the average score each rater gave out:

Bré 9.083

HausofKubrick 8.520

Chez Wombat 8.458

= Mattias 8.458

Rabbit Heart 8.416

Jester 8.375

THEO 8.25

Iz 8.0

popchartfreak 7.541

Griff 7.50

= Gezza 7.50

LA SOMBRA 7.458

RabbitFurCoat 6.958

Wall 6.916

AnthonyT 6.875

Dandy* 6.125

Nick F1 5.875

Robadonna 5.833

▲▲▲ 5.458

Grebo 5.083

richie 4.458

Atonement 4.333

Well, I'm clearly not looning them hard enough. Bré's lowest scores were two solitary 7's, it POSSIBLY did go against what I said earlier about not going mad with scores, but it was rather joyful to see!

Atonement's low average mainly comes from a lot of ??'s which I equated to 00. richie's rate though contained none of these.

I can see why people love them. I can see how people hate them. In general, they have a knack for good singles - as in songs that appeal to the general population.

Talk, I love but I didn't expect it to win this. I'm kinda shocked Fix You didn't win.

Oh I agree totally. They definitely know how to pick the right singles - their albums are generally solid, but definitely not without filler.

I didn't expect Fix You to win this, I knew its overexposure would put some off, but by the end of the results, I was just hoping it would stay top 10 :(

No I think Mylo is their best album too, to me theyve improved with age, but I know some early fans who raved at Parachutes went right off them soon after. I thought they were a pleasant Radiohead stylee band initially, who have become more interesting as time has gone on. Fix You is great. I really dont understand why The Scientist is so rated though...

The Scientist is highly rated because it is a quite lovely piece of music unlike the absolute turds that were highly profitable they later turned out.

I'm sorry but Paradise is a truly abysmal song that did not even warrant a top 20 place.

Fix You is just so hideously overplayed and I found it incredibly irritating then.

I'm sorry but I can only listen to empty bluster for so long and I prefer other brands of empty bluster to this.

I'm going to play Devil's advocate and say that we all could say that a certain song is quite lovely piece of music unlike other absolute turds.

I'm sure some people feel the same about Fix You.

I really despise Fix You and it's not through overplay either, I've always hated it since it was released. I just find it to be void of any genuine emotion, it feels like a really contrived way of writing a song that will make people feel like they relate to it.

Talk won! Really surprised but pleasantly pleased that my 11 won.

I like it. I can see why someone would hate it. It's overwhelmingly sweet.

Of course we can. It's called having an opinion. Doesn't mean i'm right, just what I think.

Good and surprising winner but Politik and Shiver so low down? So underrated, particularly Politik.

Good albums winner too but shocked X&Y is 2nd, that album sums up why so many people think Coldplay are the most boring band that's ever existed.

Wow suprised to see Talk win but a good one at that. Glad Violet Hill is top 10, I heard that in a shop the other day. Still sounds great and I prefer it to Viva la Vida too ^_^

Rather surprising results - especially Shiver being that low down.

I won't deny that I don't really like anything beyond the first couple of albums and I have only heard the song 'Viva La Vida' once in my life...it was in a huge gig in Perth, Australia they were playing (I'd gone mainly to see Mercury Rev in support) and, when they started playing it, the whole place went mental. I had no idea what the song was at all...still wouldn't recognise it.

Viva la Vida sounds like Enya with a pulse. And I mean that in the best possible way - I love it. :)
