I don't know if it is just because I'm hungover and fragile today or if it really is just so powerful but the last minute and a half of 'Self Control' has me in tears this morning. Could be my favourite 90 seconds of Frank music to date, it is just incredible.

From a completely sober point of view it's had me WOBBLING a few times too.

Fair point Apple Drop Banana but my iTunes has crashed.

To be honest I'm more interested in the CD release date but can't find it anywhere. :drama:

EDIT: OMG it is working now. And Frank is #1 on UK iTunes. :o

I believe you can get a CD when you buy (or they may actually be giving them out free) the Boys Dont Cry magazine, but not sure where you can get one of those & not 100% on that.

I don't live in London anymore though. Frank seems like the type of artist who would still release a CD format so I'll just wait and see.

Just to throw an idea out there - both a Blonde rate and a Frank discography rate would be really appropriate soon I feel. :kink:

That Self Control part is indeed incredible.

Some people are selling the zines for 300-1000 dolla on eBay oops

His album is gonna be played on Radio 1 in FULL in the next few minutes!

:D

Self Control, Ivy and Nikes are by far the best songs. Other than that it's a bit of a mess and the interludes are actually annoying in some parts.

The interludes on the whole work reasonably well I think but I do agree that they are the worst thing about the album.

'Facebook Story' in particular is entirely pointless. I have been listening to a 16 track playlist and removing it.

Self Control, Ivy and Nikes are by far the best songs.

Especially 'Self Control'

Overall, a stunning album! A few duds, but still a great album overall. The interludes are the weakest, but I don't mind them. A

'Futura Free' is my favourite for sure.

But yeah, I feel my opinion is the same as the general opinion on here tbh. Stellar album and well worth the wait, a couple of bleh moments, but that's to be expected.

Right now my faves are Nights, Solo, Solo Reprise, Nikes, Self Control. The music has so many layers though. A few listens are never enough. Still discovering new things in Channel Orange~

My highlights are 'Self Control', 'Ivy', 'Black & White' and 'Solo' I think. The first half of the album is definitely stronger so far for me but that may change within time.

I am willing 'Godspeed' to become one of my favs in time because Kim Burrell is f***ing incredible and the fact she is on this record just makes me so happy.

Favourites so far:

1. Ivy

2. Pink + White

3. Solo

4. Self Control

5. Godspeed

Not really sure of an order yet, giving myself a bit more time as it's definitely an album that needs a good few listens.

Okay, just listened to 'Godspeed' again and no longer having to will it, it is becoming a favourite already.

This delivery of "I will always love you" as the first line gives me chills throughout my body.

just found this on yt

not sure where it comes from though

This comes nowhere NEAR the grandness of 'Channel ORANGE'. Unfair to compare but that is a 10/10 album this, on first listen is around an 7/10 that could grow over time. Could be a victim of overhype but I can't pinpoint any huge moments on it but i'll definitely return to it a fair bit and let it all sink in properly rather than basing it on only one listen.

The interludes are really annoying too :( Kendrick does them so much better and more meaningfully.

As if he even needs to ask.. :') YES.

Still letting this all settle in but it's another solid effort from Frank as expected.

My favourite at the moment is 'White Ferrari' I think but there are so many MOMENTS.

After having this for a week now I've come to the conclusion that it definitely isn't as great as Channel Orange, but seeing as that is in my top 5 albums of all time I really didn't expect the follow up to touch it.

The interludes let it down a tad but 'Blonde' is at least a 8.5/9.0 out of 10 type album which is massively impressive as it adds to the fact that he is yet to release anything questionable at all. He really is adding more evidence to the idea that he may be one of the best male musicians of the time (he certainly is my personal favourite).
