First play of third single (which they haven't said the name of yet) is on Gemma Cairney's show on BBC Radio 1 at 9am this Sunday according to their Twitter just now. I hope it's 'Standing in the Dark'!

I'm also hoping for Standing In the Dark, it was instantly my favourite track by them and still is. But then I like 'Runs Around', 'You Didn't Tell Me' & 'Standing In The Dark' all better than their first two singles, so I wouldn't mind if any of those three turns out to be the next single.

'Standing in the Dark' is officially the third single! They've posted up the official lyric video:

Phew, the best choice imo and the studio version sounds really nice. Hopefully this one can spend more than 3 weeks in the top 40!
I cant see these guys surviving long term, the singles are falling far to fast and i cant see the album breaking that trend unless they have a killer single lined up which i suspect they dont.

There's talk flying around of them being booked to do the live shows of 'X Factor' - if they get on the week before 'Standing...' or the album is released that'll be big!
  • 2 weeks later...

Does anyone know when the video for this is coming out?

Video's coming very soon - next week I believe!

In the meantime this is the single artwork:

Ooh I like the artwork, presumably both photos were taking on set of the video like their previous two.

I hope you're right about them being on XF, just because I want Standing In The Dark to be big, I love this song. I still find it a bit weird that Aaron is their manager though.

I think it would make sense given The Wanted go on there ad infinitum without really selling albums! Difference being I think Lawson have the potential to sell albums...and yeah I can kind of see why Aaron managing them would be weird but McFly's manager Fletch used to be in a boyband!

'Standing in the Dark' will be available on CD and 7" picture disc from their official store, both signed as with 'Taking Over Me'. Digital EP also and we'll get the iTunes link for that soon.

CD

1. Standing in the Dark

2. Die For You

7" Picture Disc

1. Standing in the Dark

2. Standing in the Dark (Remix)

I see Lawson as more of an album seller too, but I don't see them being huge (not this era anyway), if because of nothing else, the album market itself is on deaths door, it'll will have to do really amazing to go platinum.

Another B-Side from them - good boys! That means we will of heard 10 original tracks by them (8 in studio form) by the time SITD is released:

Red Sky, When She Was Mine, Anybody Out There, Still Hurts, Let Go, Standing In The Dark, Die For You, Runs Around & You Didn't Tell Me

If the album doesn't include the B-sides, and bare in mind they have a double disc deluxe version, then we're going to get tonnes of tracks from them! The deluxe probably will just be the b-sides though so maybe I shouldn't get too excited.

I would hazard a guess their collaborations with a certain Captain Barlow would be on the deluxe version...? ;)

They said it was too late to make the album though didn't they and would be on a re-release later on? I'll definitely not be getting that, Gary's songs for other people are very poor.

They aren't THAT bad, it's only really Matt Cardle's that was a waste of time! Alesha Dixon's "To Love Again" was such a beautiful song and I still stand by that. And Andy has said on Popjustice that the stuff they've done with him is goosebump inducing in the same way 'Rule the World' is!

It's all personal opinion of course but I haven't come across a song by him for another artist (not Take That related) that I've liked so it doesn't fill me with very much excitement.

Video premiered on Chart Show TV yesterday, will be up on their VEVO within next week. There's apparently a LOT of rain involved in a McFly 'The Heart Never Lies'-esque way...

Elsewhere the iTunes EP is up for pre-order:

1. Standing in the Dark

2. Die For You

3. Getting Nowhere

4. Standing in the Dark (Acoustic)

5. The A Team (Ed Sheeran cover - pre-order only)

Is there a reason for the big delay between tv getting it and them putting it on Vevo? Looking forwards to seeing it though.

And yey for another b-side!

I believe (but don't quote me on it) they're meant to be making some big announcement about their first American dates!

Oh I see, good for them! Although I still think it would make more sense to have put the video up straight away, get some coverage (sites like digital spy would post about the video) and then announce the American dates (if true) and then get more coverage and people probably posting the video at the end of their article, as this announcement could eclipse the news of the video/single which they don't need.... plus I want to see it. ;)
