It is quite a bad and tacky title, but the song could still be good no matter what.

Someone on Popjustice who have been telling us information about their releases days before the girls said the song is "tacky" and that when he thinks of the title "Disco Love", he thinks "Donna Summers"... Although, he's a bit ambiguous. Probably because he isn't allowed to tell us anything... He said a few days ago "I hope the single is fun, upbeat and disco". He probably knew about it back then. He also said the initials to the song were "D.L" even before we got the title confirmed on Twitter. So, it's up to you guys to believe it or not. (He did know about Notorious and Missing You days before us, too).

With how things went with Gentleman, I'm really not sure about that one... :( I mean, about it selling the album. As a for the track itself, on its own, it could be good for all I know.

I gotta say I can't wait to hear it. Mid-August, it is. :cheer:

The Saturdays next single is written and produced by the brilliant #StopWaitGo @asgeirorri @palmiragnar @saethork ! #proudoverload #excited #hardworkpaysoff #proud #talent #thesaturdays #discolove #Isangthedemonananana #dopesong #dvergshofdiforever

They are apparently an Icelandic trio called StopWaitGo. There's not much on them on Twitter.

And Frankie's old hair!

The same girl on that twitter also posted a few lyrics from the song.

"Take us back to 1999, DJ playing Hit me baby one more time...".

"Shake shake shake me like im dreaming".

Mollie would have to sing that line!

They'll be calling the album '1999' at this rate. :drama:

I'm sad Frankie has de-extensioned for the video. The silver lining is, I should hopefully get a new hair-flip gif for my signature.
Well, obviously you shouldn't judge a song based on the title and it's silly to do so, but that is a really bad title.

Dead at another 1999 reference. But I'm loving the BOMT reference assuming Mollie gets that line.

If this is anything like Gentleman, Get Lucky, or Blurred Lines I'll be devastated.

You just know that someone who couldn't give two shits about Britney is going to sing that line. Probably Vanessa.

It does sound like it could be the chorus, though...But HEY, it's The Saturdays, obviously the five of them won't sing the chorus.

Plus the same girl said Vanessa sings most of the song, so there you go.

I really hope that isn't true about Vanessa leading the song. I'm ready for a Frollie single. We haven't heard Mollie prominent on a single since 30 Days and we haven't heard Frankie prominent on a single since... Missing You? It's been like Rochunessa overload.
Okay so Disco Love is a bad title, that doesn't mean it wont do good in the charts. Come on, The wanted with 'Walks like Rihanna' is one of the most potentially stupid names Ive heard in the past few years, yet it didn't do badly in the charts??

I don't really care for the title, it's just tacky. A bit like "Colonial Masses", you know. It could still be good as long as the hook is huge, etc. I believe it will be good because, you know...It is the lead single of the album! Although, I'm not gonna lie, it does feel like "Gentleman" all over again.

What I'm not so sure about is the few lyrics we already have and how exactly will they put "disco love" in the chorus. Plus, I mean... "Shake shake shake me like I'm dreaming" ... really, lol?

Also, it's produced by the producing team/trio "StopWaitGo" which is - judging by their Soundcloud page - more specialised into rock productions. I'm not saying this will be rock. I know it won't. I'm just wondering...How good - production wise, if we take the instrumental on its own - can the song be when the producer isn't used to produce pop songs?

I want it to be like Long Hot Summer or Love Machine (which im guessing as that was kinda rock-y)

Woops, seems like it was the wrong Soundcloud page!

They have produced tracks for another girlgroup called "The Charlies". The production is "electro-dance-pop"....but nothing outstanding and it's actually quite cheap.

I feel like, even though this is actually the lead single of the album, it won't be the best of the album at all.

Maybe we should get a kickstarter going and try and get them some time with Max Martin or something!

Not really feeling anything I've heard about this song just yet. It all sounds so cheap and tacky.

I'm losing all faith in them. It seems like they don't know where they fit and are just trying any old crap.

It sounds like Gentleman's sister which would be a disaster. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and can't wait to hear it, though.

Obviously the song isn't out yet BUT I'm a bit annoyed as this sounds like it's a bit desperate to latch onto the current trends, even moreso than Gentleman. You've had massive hits like Get Lucky and Blurred Lines as well as other songs following a similar sound such as Treasure and Take Back the Night. They can't keep releasing similar songs to What About Us all the time and I'm sure I'll like it if it's similar to those songs mentioned but, as I said, it just looks a bit desperate on their behalf.

Yeah, if it's like get lucky I'm off the sats bandwagon

Nah just kidding :kink: Ill be really unhappy though!!!! :snif:
