Doing better than Gentleman isn't exactly being successful, though. 30 Days sold more than Gentleman and even went top 10 yet it's still a flop.

I can see them abandoning the album again if Disco Love isn't a proper hit and not even release Not Giving Up, it's so typical of them

Stop being so negative!! It's not even been released yet!! For all you know this is the album where management have sat down and said Right girls, this needs to sell!! we'll do the album another single or two and milk it!! Disco Love could be #1 for all you know!!! The fact that that they got their first #1 this year shows that they are progressing as a band and the public are warming to them. Let's just wait and see what happens before you start being all depressing
Negativity alert! We don't know how it's going to do, but the truth is that it's gotten more airplay than 30 days. 30 days was neither promoted (on any major show) or had decent airplay. Gentleman had neither a lot of promotion or any airplay at all. I see this doing a forever is over however. Can't see the single sell more than 150,000
Blasphemy!!!!! :o

I don't want it to flop at all a post album release of Not Giving Up (that will probably smash) sounds more exciting than a drawn out release of Disco Love so the quicker it's released and does it's plummet the quicker we can move on to the next single.

Well thats okay then :P I'd rather a fantastic chart run and fantastic sales for DL so that the album gets a good kick start!!! I thino the album has potential to go top5!! Especially if DL does well and then we'll maybe get a couple more singles. In all honesty though, I reckon we'll only get 1 more single after the album, I mean what are the chances they will release 6 singles from one album?

Hmm?

30 Days:

Radio Airplay: 100-70-36-33-28-19-73-X

TV Airplay: 21-23-27-31-16-18-29-X

Disco Love:

Radio Airplay: Not Top 100 as of last week

TV Airplay: 41-22-22

Never heard it on radio, and if 30 days did go up on airplay, it'll be because of small radio stations with low audience ratings playing it loads of times, which then makes an impact. It didn't have the support of capital either

By definition, for '30 Days' to get as high as it did on airplay, its audience rating score was high - which isn't determined by number of plays, but more so by the most influential radio stations playing it a few times (relatively), but in the process being heard by more people. I'm sure it got good support by Radio 1? Capital isn't the be all and end all... after all, they supported 'Gentleman'. Overall, I'd have said radio airplay for '30 Days' was decent enough. At this stage I'll be happy if 'Disco Love' manages to match it, eventually.

'Disco Love' wasn't Top 100 last week, maybe it could be 51-100 this week (we'll find out whether it is or not on Thursday), but there's no sign of it being Top 40 next week (Source: http://ukairplaychart.com/uk/rolling_week/ ). Whereas at the same stage, '30 Days' had cracked the Top 40.

I remember the airplay for '30 Days' The reason is was so high was because Radio 1 had played it ALOT more it had 19/20 plays at this stage and DL has had 5 (4 of which were played in one day on Saturday).

Capital played 30 days ONCE, and they've played DL 24 times and it's getting regular airplay now at least 2/3 times a day.

It's a shame R1 haven't taken to the single yet, I'm hoping this week airplay starts to increase and then next week it moves to B and gets played a decent amount in the run up to release.

As long as Disco love goes top 10 I'll be happy, there's no telling what could happen it's The Sats afterall.

I definitely don't predict BIG things for DL though, A moderate hit at best, which will be lucky to sell 110,000 in the long run :(

If it gets to around #6, I'd be thrilled! :D (Obviously Top 5 is preferable, but if it was to miss out, please let it be #6. ^_^ )
Not Jay bringing some objectivity in the topic...Oops, I mean, "negativity". :kink:

UK Rolling Airplay: N/A

UK Rolling Commercial Airplay #39

UK Rolling TV Airplay: #20

Ireland Rolling Airplay: #35

Late bloomer but it's getting there.

Disco Love was doing really well now it's slipped all the way down to #567 :(

I guess it was still holding from the Stepping Out Performance and the slight increase in airplay, Capital are playing it regularly now and Radio 1 play it on the odd occasion but its always at a ridiculous time - This morning it was between 5/6am.

Just think of it this way - Avril Lavigne's Here's to Never Growing Up pre-order was pretty much always lower than Disco Love is right now, bar it making the top 200 for a couple of days after her Voice performance. Disco Love was top 200 for a bit when it was initially put up. It's doing better than that, which managed #14, so I'd say it looks to have a good chance of making the top 10, especially as the songs at the bottom end are pretty stale and can't be selling TOO much now...

Praise the lord!!! Someone is actually talking sense :P

There's four potential new top 10 entries that week that are beating them on pre-orders! Let's not forget that Miley Cyrus wrecking Ball will have just been released along with new Katy! There will also be XFactor guest performers.... I think it's going to be incredibly tight, as I said previously promotion is going to be vital!

Let's not forget they have an EP and a single Pre-Order so it's doing much better then Here's To Never Growing Up.

Indeed! And it has Radio 1 support which surely must be benefiting it at least a little bit right now, hopefully gonna go up to B-List soon also.
