Everyone else, You can't compare Disco Love to Avril because there are 4 new releases ahead of them in preorders, Miley will be BIG and I'm sure Katy/Jason will still be selling loads not to mention the X-Factor guest performers and who know's if someone sings something really well and that also makes top 10.

 

We won't know till it's released really, it's doing well so far and sales should be good but I can't see this peaking any higher than 6 with 3 releases ahead of them already pre-order wise.

It gets updated every Wednesday but doesn't come into full effect until the following Monday. Conor & John have both been A-Listed. I don't mean to be negative but I'm being realistic that I'm positive unless their on the xFactor that will miss the top 10. What an absolute horrible campaign 1-14-12 would be quite horrific and would make me think that this is indeed The Saturdays' last chance.

Thing is, if Disco Love bombs (which is likely) then Radio 1 might not even support the next single at all no matter how good it is. Unfortunately Radio 1 are extremely fickle and once they decide someone is irrelevant, then no more support for them (Robbie Williams, Alexandra Burke etc)

Robbie Williams? And Just cause they don't pick it up, doesn't mean others won't. Capital love Disco love which is a great thing as their target audience listen to mostly Capital (teens). Maybe Hallam or stations like that. Radio 1 maybe the more listened to station but it may not make as big of an impact as Capitals plays for the sats as people who buy their songs are going to be 20 years old or less

By definition, for '30 Days' to get as high as it did on airplay, its audience rating score was high - which isn't determined by number of plays, but more so by the most influential radio stations playing it a few times (relatively), but in the process being heard by more people. I'm sure it got good support by Radio 1? Capital isn't the be all and end all... after all, they supported 'Gentleman'. Overall, I'd have said radio airplay for '30 Days' was decent enough. At this stage I'll be happy if 'Disco Love' manages to match it, eventually.

 

'Disco Love' wasn't Top 100 last week, maybe it could be 51-100 this week (we'll find out whether it is or not on Thursday), but there's no sign of it being Top 40 next week (Source: http://ukairplaychart.com/uk/rolling_week/ ). Whereas at the same stage, '30 Days' had cracked the Top 40.

'Gentleman' was playlisted and remained on their list for several weeks. 11th May until 11th July in fact. I assume during those 2 months it would have been played. ;)

There was a big furore last year over Radio 1 failing to playlist 'Candy'! They essentially said that he wasn't relevant to their demographic.

Capital have been really supportive for the past two years, it's Radio 1 that needs some sense. #ego

 

Radio 1 website clearly states that a song C-listed have around 5-6 plays a week. If comparemyradio is anything to go by (it is to take with a pinch of salt) Radio 1 are doing exactly what they are always doing with the girls ; playlisting them, but not playing them as much as they should be playing them.

I think the playlist ensures they're played AT LEAST 5 times a week which is what they're basically doing; they could be playing them more but choose not to. I'm guessing they have some sort of deal with Fascination so that they're playlisted.

It was played 6 times in the last 30 days, there is something not working. It has been playlisted for more than a week and half now. Add to that the first two plays were already there 3 weeks ago and you kinda wonder what they are doing right now.
