It has songs designed to be singles, and songs designed to fill space. Hence "singles and filler".

But you're not giving any examples of how the quality increases or decreases in terms of singles or album tracks? In my opinion, the album tracks are much more accessible and stronger than most other albums.

I don't care about the quality, that is entirely down to opinion. The filler on LOUD is decent, but it's still filler.

This is a 13/10 statement *.*

Loud is a fantastic album and without a doubt Rihanna's most consistent. Out of the 11 tracks, only one is a dud and another that I dislike. 'Man Down' and 'Only Girl (In the World)' are both incredible (especially the former), LTWYL p.II is borderline incredible, 'What's My Name', 'California King Bed', 'S&M' and 'Skin' are great while 'Complicated' and 'Cheers' are decent enough.

Only the producers/artists know what the filler is on their albums. Just because you dislike a song, it doesn't necessarily mean it is filler. I grant you that 'Fading' is most probably filler, but nothing else on the album sticks out as filler even if I really dislike 'Raining Men'.

On another note, Madonna to STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THE TOP SPOT AS POSSIBLE please. Horrendously overrated artist.

I know what filler is, I get annoyed when people label any track they dislike as filler. To me LOUD has multiple songs that while alright, sound like they were created solely to take up space. 'Fading', 'Complicated', even 'Cheers' to an extent - none have anything bordering on new ideas or sound like any major effort was put into them (the Avril sample was a nice touch, though).

I do agree with that assessment of 'filler' - in that it's something that the artist/producers clearly never intended to be a single. In the case of Loud though they may be filler tracks in that sense, but for me they are actually good songs - which is more important.

Okay I'm glad you get annoyed also. Again, I wouldn't say 'Cheers' and 'Complicated' are filler. I think the chorus of 'Complicated' is what makes the song. The verses are definitely filler though but I wouldn't say the whole song is. 'Cheers' probably seems bland and "filler-like" simply because it is on an album full of bold, vibrant up-tempos. Looking at the song individually, it actually has quite a bit going for it. There's also no other song on the album about partying (I don't think - maybe RM but I've only listened to it twice and can't understand what they're saying ).

COAD better not win. Ew.

Obviously 'Breakaway' ftw for me. But in the 'Loud' discussion, what's all this shade to 'Fading'?? :/ oh and seriously, I can't think of one track below a 7 on that album <3 so not only do I want that to be RiRi's highest album, but seeing as Kelly won't win, I'd settle for that winning. JusKing better make top 15 at least.

I take it I'm the token Echo supporter. :cheer:

Most certainly not. This list was very good and I really wouldn't mind any of my top 10 winning ('Echo' was most certainly in there!)
I'm kind of confused as to how Echo made top 30 in the first place, to be honest  Leona's hardly popular on here these days and it wasn't exactly a big album for her.

I'm (pleasantly) surprised too. But I do think it is widely considered her best album by fans. Obviously the general public would say Spirit is her best but then you'd have to question how many of them actually listened to Echo when you consider the sales decline.

I was shocked Echo made it in the first place too, but it's definitely her best album. Spirit has Run and Bleeding Love which are her two best songs but is pretty boring on the whole. Glassheart only really has the title track (which is bloody amazing) as real highlights and at times she was trying far too hard to be different to her previous work. Echo was fantastic on the whole, Outta My Head, Happy, Naked, Love Letter, Can't Breathe and My Hands are all brilliant.
Hang on, I didn't even realise The Saturdays made the top 30! :o Hoping they occupy the bottom spots.

Sorry I haven't started guys, on Sunday I was a bit busy then distracted by BJSC and then yesterday I couldn't get to use my laptop but I should have time this evening ^_^
*cough*
I do believe Liam has work experience and therefore, shock horror, a life outside this forum and this countdown.
