I notice this morning that Pink's single 'Just Give Me A Reason', and album 'The Truth About Love' have both vanished from the LivePopBars charts - have iTunes made another accidental deletion? :P

Also, did Skinny Love get another TV airing yesterday - I notice it jumped up the charts this morning?

Rudimental, Imagine Dragons and Disclosure all finally looking to peak inside the T40. Now for Gabrielle Aplin to sneak in and the four main 'bubbling under' tracks these past few weeks will have made it.
I'm surprised 'Burn' is looking to be big. It's a really average song - regardless of whether it is Leona or Ellie singing it. Re: 'We Found Love', Leona releasing it probably would've made it a hit in UK (Capital and Radio 1 were playlisting her in 2011) but not in the US. Anyway, wasn't her version a ballad?

Imagine Dragons already went top 40 in their first week.

79. Titanium - Jahméne Douglas

80. Titanium (feat. Sia) - David Guetta

First time I've seen Jahméne's version ahead of the original (original has been put back to 99p again which I guess is why but I'm surprised Jahméne is still top 100, let alone top 80 - looks like he might actually climb this week).

'Burn' certainly wouldn't have been a hit for Leona anyway, I don't even know why it's looking to be big for Ellie. Bland and not excessively catchy either.

I think 'Burn' sounds like a hit, it's not her best by any means but it is a big anthemic and catchy song and a lot poppier than some of her more inaccessible singles.

Michael has been tampering.

I don't think 'Burn' is Ellie's best (but it is better than a lot of people make it out to be IMO) but I think it definitely does sound like a hit. At least in the UK anyway. I'm surprised it's done so well in the US so far.

This. Anything Could Happen is so much better. Burn is okaaay, but it is bland.

Was her version of We Found Love really a ballad? :o

Also, speaking of Capital, I haven't had a radio signal from them in daaays. It's really weird. Anyone know why?

Maybe they're tired of reading your complaints about them playing P!nk and J. Timberlake

They got sick of your whinging and deliberately cut off your signal.

Just a guess though.

If Capital don't like people whinging, they should change their music output to decrease the complaints they get.

I heard Independent Women by Destiny's Child on there last night which shocked me!! :o What makes it sad, is if that song was released today they wouldn't be playing it.

Pretty much this to be fair

Oh, also, they're doing a Beyonce competition at the moment, so explains that.

BBC1 has been on instead, Sarah Cox plays some brilliant music + has excellent features.

Then there are others who play Celebrity Rhyming Games, where the rhymes make no sense, don't even sound right half the time ...

It's a mixed bag.

Edited by Michael!

I sometimes think Radio 1 has too much talking. I used to "try" to listen to it on the way to work, when Chris Moyles was on it, he'd sometimes talk for 20 minutes without playing any music, and the stuff he talked about was just boring to me. But some stations like Choice FM I don't mind when they talk, since what they talk about is generally interesting.

Presenters on radio 1 do talk too much which puts me off a bit. What's more is they just talk about irrelevant waffle. Nick Grimshaw may not talk as much as Chris Moyles did but at least Moyles made an effort to make his show funny and interesting. It's no surprise that radio 1 are losing listeners as they're trying to appeal to teenagers but they would much prefer to listen to what's on their iPod and discover new music by going on YouTube

Single EP pre-orders (album chart):

63. Trampoline (feat. 2 Chainz) - Tinie Tempah

128. Everything To Me (EP) - Shane Filan

180. Earthquake (feat. Dominique Young Unique) - DJ Fresh & Diplo

288. Boom Boom (Heartbeat) [feat. Rachel K Collier] - Ray Foxx

307. Right Place Right Time (Remixes) - Olly Murs

394. Melody Calling (EP) - The Vaccines

757. Carry Me On (feat. Chrom3) - Brookes Brothers

767. Strong (EP) - London Grammar

772. Doing Ok (feat. Jacob Banks) - Wretch 32

887. All the Wrong Places - Example

895. Sex (EP) - The 1975

Earthquake set to hit the top 10? :D

I really hope 'Earthquake' is a hit! Very different from previous DJ Fresh singles, he seems to have a much more varied sound than most successful dance acts. Would be great to see Diplo finally getting a top 10 hit as a credited artist too (though he's had 2 as a producer already, Alex Clare's 'Too Close' and Usher's 'Climax'. Just Wikipedia-ed that to make sure I hadn't forgotten any and discovered he produced 'Paper Planes' by M.I.A. as well :o And he also produced 'Trampoline' so will get a third top 10 as a producer next week anyway).

I think on other shows the balance is better, Chris Moyles's one was the most extreme. Especially the shows at night, it's usually less talking, and when they do talk it tends to be more interesting.

I think the shows during the morning and afternoon when people are going to/from work they have to talk more for some reason. Radio in general isn't good during the morning, so many adverts and traffic updates on the commercial stations.

I hope Earthquake goes top 10, but there'll be major melt-downs if it does.

Completely agreed. The worst one ever for me was one in the morning, some woman talking about how tired she was and pretty much nothing else.

Too much talking.

Pleased to see Imagine Dragons are comfortably top 40 now, should at least get a better peak than #40. Woo for Of Monsters And Men going back to the top 40, don't think they'll get there officially again though. <_< at Birdy being top 40 as well, much higher than she got last week when she was initially made 59p. Hooray for the re-re-re-addition to the 59p list of 'Paradise', I do wish iTunes had a slightly more diverse range of songs to discount though.

'If You Wanna' continuing to rack up those trickle sales *.* Possible replacement for 'One Day Like This' as the highest selling #35 hit of all time?

What is this randomness that is the Lana Del Rey remix suddenly getting all popular? What brought this on?
