October 9, 20168 yr I am SO HAPPY for her even if I do deeply wish it was True or Sol Angel getting this look-in :kink: She deserves all the success she gets because she's always been the better of the two sisters (IF WE HAVE TO COMPARE WHICH WE SHOULDN'T).
I'm currently obsessed with Sol-Angel! Sandcastle Disco is a bop :yahoo: I'm glad she's successful but I can't get into this album, I think hipster R&B has been done to the death this year lol. Junie is quite good though! I'll just pretend I never read the last sentence
October 9, 20168 yr Author So pleased for her. And only a 1k gap between her and Bon Iver. :o :o I hope she can also bag a hit from this album. 'Mad' needs to happen.
October 11, 20168 yr Author She's apparently debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 this week (for the first time ever) at #74 with Cranes In The Sky.
October 11, 20168 yr Strange that Cranes In The Sky seems to be the one taking of when Don't Touch My Hair is the one picking up the YouTube views.
October 13, 20168 yr Author Strange that Cranes In The Sky seems to be the one taking of when Don't Touch My Hair is the one picking up the YouTube views. CITS is a lot more "universal" than DTMH though. CITS has the melancholy beauty of 'Losing You' although I'm hesitant to compare them too much since they're both amazing in different ways.
October 20, 20168 yr Can't get over this beaut of an album  Same here  Start that tour, NOW pls!
November 7, 20168 yr Author She smashed it! DTMH especially with that slick choreography. Has it done anything for her on US iTunes?
November 10, 20168 yr I feel like this album has just become so more important over the last few days. Listening to some of the lyrics now and they have been given even more power and are needed more so than ever.
January 2, 20178 yr I feel like this album has just become so more important over the last few days. Listening to some of the lyrics now and they have been given even more power and are needed more so than ever. THIS! The more I listen, the more layers I discover (lyric and music wise). Kudos for the fact that I can relate to everything though not been through everything she sings about. Best album of 2016 without a doubt  Shame she doesn't peform more often as she's growing as an artist on stage as well.
January 15, 20178 yr Author She's bagged her first ever BRIT nomination this year in the Best International Female category along with Beyonce, Rihanna, Sia and CATQ. :cheer: I'd love for her to win but I think Beyonce has it sewn up.
January 16, 20178 yr I'd love for her to win but I think Beyonce has it sewn up. Oh I wouldn't say that, the BRIT Awards board are exactly the sort to give Solange an award over Beyoncé in an attempt to look cool. I still haven't listened to this album in full but I'd be happy for any of those nominees to win - ideally one of the Knowles sisters.
January 16, 20178 yr Yep definitely! I wouldn't be surprised with an upset of her or Christine & The Queens, I know the latter still had a UK hit but compared to the obvious Sia or Beyonce I think they'll give it to one of the two indie/blog darlings. Lemonade was a huge critical success too but as Aaron says, the people decding the BRITs would 100% give it to Solange instead because nobody else would.
January 16, 20178 yr I certainly think Solange has a chance of winning this. But it depends somewhat on who performs, if they can get Beyonce, Sia or Rihanna to attend/perform, they'll likely give it to one of them.
January 30, 20178 yr Author Oh I wouldn't say that, the BRIT Awards board are exactly the sort to give Solange an award over Beyoncé in an attempt to look cool. I still haven't listened to this album in full but I'd be happy for any of those nominees to win - ideally one of the Knowles sisters. I hope you're right. The recognition she'd receive on the back of it would be great. Hopefully she'll perform.
February 14, 20178 yr 'Cranes in the sky' won best R&B peformance at the Grammy Awards last weekend. So deserving
April 1, 20178 yr Seeing her at Lovebox in July and I cannot WAIT, Seeing her, Frank and Sampha in one night might just be too much to handle. Just praying for no clashes :'(
April 5, 20178 yr Author Seeing her at Lovebox in July and I cannot WAIT, Seeing her, Frank and Sampha in one night might just be too much to handle. Just praying for no clashes :'( So jealous! I've been there twice before but I wish it was this year I'd go. Also only just found out Solange bagged her first Grammy. This era has been defining for Solange.
