There are quite a few of us here interested in the predictions of how our favourite American scripted shows will fare over the coming year. Enough of us that I thought a prediction game might be an idea! The concept is simple enough, either put "Renewed" or "Cancelled" next to each show depending on what you think it's fate will be! Deadline for submission will be the start of the season and we'll see who managed to be the most accurate! There's a couple of bonus questions too!

 

 

A correct prediction is worth 1 mark and you get 0.5 marks if you predicted a show as cancelled but it is announced as a 'final season'.

Fantastic idea, I hope there's a lot more stuff like this planned once the season starts! I'll get on it soon, some of these are really tough calls and I'm not optimistic about new ABC comedy.

 

Any point with a few of them even being on the list though? Nikita and HIMYM already have announced final seasons and Glee renewed (unless there is a U-turn on that!)

 

I just pulled the list off from online and forgot to pull out Nikita and HIMYM. Glee could have a u-turn pulled on it though if it doesn't perform well and the head of Fox has basically condemned it by saying it won't pass season 6.

Gonna get the ball rolling before I get influenced by the predictions of other people.

By 'final season' I obv mean they will be renewed but it will be announced that those will be their final season, so the 11th for Grey's etc.

Nooo, they can't take away our Suburgatory. :(

Well, my logic on the matter is if this season is short (and it hasn't got a start date yet so could be any length really) then it'll need 2 additional seasons for syndication and given the ratings I just cannot see that happening.

 

I have to admit that whilst S1 is one of the best network comedies of recent years, half of S2 was UTTER CRAP. The high point was the 2/3 episodes before Christmas, culminating in the AMAZING Dahlia music video of course *.*

Hannibal and Revolution getting axed? I don't see that happening :o

I don't see Revolution's time slot change working very well for it really. Hannibal was lucky to get a second season imo, the ratings screamed cancel but it was a cheaper option...won't get lucky again (similar to Mindy, got a second shot but unless it starts doing better out of New Girl).

Revolution is so a goner. It's been moved to an abysmal slot and only just held its own post The Voice this season. I forsee a 1.8 debut and a season average of 1.2-1.4. Hannibal really was incredibly lucky to be renewed this season, unless it gets a severe uptick in 18-49/viewers it's totally gone too. There's only so much prestige can do for it.

No way will they renew Suburgatory. ABC will kill it with a stupid slot mid season and no promotion. It's like their new Cougar Town/Happy Endings. A massive shame as they create all these quirky comedies that would be great for cable then ditch them for shit like Tim Allen and quite frankly broadcast TV's worst show - The Neighbors.

I think it was a bit screwed over, the two episodes it aired after The Middle were a very similar level to what The Neighbors had been pulling and barely any difference to what it was doing after Modern Family and The Neighbors is the one with a slot on the fall schedule. Oh well. :(
