Great entry this month! It sounds like something that will be battling for top points from @Jade

A wave of Turkish darkness for 175 After two middling results with pop songs just over two minutes long, FSR Rontvia has decided to leave the wonderful pop nations to what they do best and are ringin

  • In predictable fashion... this is nothing short of incredible 🖤

Safari DNQ's!

News just in - Safari's former Rontvian chart topper I Need You has failed to qualify for the final of BJSC 66, finishing 18th in the semi and missing the final by only a few points. The flop follows seven consecutive hits for the nation, an almost unprecednted run of success. Ricardo Delta said: "When Jesus say yes, everybody can say no!"

Asked about why on earth the nation decided to send such an unusual entry, Mr Delta said "Well it was No.1 in our chart...we always send the song that's highest in our chart because the nation likes to send something that we can always fully support. Sometimes it works - like with Ramelia - sometimes it fails spectacularly and that was one of these occasions, it's not like the dramatic and completely bizarre failure of Spin My World last summer. Onwards and upwards!"

oops
'Almost unprecedented' save for the pretty huge precedent of you having like 40+ Qs in a row before?

Qualifiers aren't the same thing as hits

Glad you liked it Phil, it did far better than I expected tbh! Shame you DNQ'd too, I rather liked that song. At least FSR Ashvia go down together this month!

Sheppard for BJSC 67

Australian band Sheppard have been confirmed as FSR Rontvia's entrant for BJSC 67, hosted by Jayrusalem, Bellamia and Aeroche, with the song A Grade Playa. Quite sonically far away from Geronimo, the song features lead vocals by female singer Amy Sheppard and packs a powerful pop punch with a glorious key change and sublime harmonies.

Ricardo Delta said: "Sheppard are without a doubt the best thing in pop right now. A Grade Playa is the huge album highlight and is sitting at No.1 in the Rontvian charts, which is where it triumphantly debuted three weeks ago alongside the album! We wish them the best of luck and hope they can take us back to the final in the biggest contest ever!"

Sheppard notch up seventh Rontvian DNQ

Sheppard's A Grade Playa, which has spent five weeks at the top of the Rontvian charts so far, finished 16th in Semi 2 of BJSC 67 and narrowly missed qualifying for the final, FSR Rontvia's seventh DNQ, second in a row and fifth in just over a year. No further comment or reaction could be obtained but the RTVN provided this live video of the band performing the song in Constarvan last night.

Goldfish swim into 68

South African dance duo Goldfish will be hoping not to replicate the failure of you know what by you know who as the act attempt to bring FSR Rontvia back to the final after DNQ's for Safari and (more tragically) Sheppard.

Ricardo Delta said: "Moonwalk Away (Moonlanding Mix) is a rather lush track incorporating a number of recognisable vocal samples and a sweet, almost tribal, vocal topline. A more subtle entry than usual, it makes up for not having a killer chorus by packing in stunning strings and generally just being an incredibly warm track."

The song has been at No.3 in FSR Rontvia for the past two weeks, behind the aforementioned A Grade Playa and another Sheppard song, Geronimo.

Keeping it all crossed! Here's hoping Goldfish can swim to a respectable finish, it's a beautiful song.
okay rich not only do i think this is gonna do good things, but i now actually really love this!! tough contest though but hoping there is points in the pipeline for you come that final :o

I am starting to see what Leww means about this being a contender, it kind of reminds me of 'Moan'. I think it'd definitely be a low scoring winner were it to win but this contest doesn't really have an obvious big smash in it so a low scoring winner could happen... still think others are more likely but this could be at least top 10.

(this comment is of course not in any way influenced by my knowledge of the votes so far, it's just my thoughts after listening through semi 1 in full / voting)
