Great entry this month! It sounds like something that will be battling for top points from @Jade

A wave of Turkish darkness for 175 After two middling results with pop songs just over two minutes long, FSR Rontvia has decided to leave the wonderful pop nations to what they do best and are ringin

  • In predictable fashion... this is nothing short of incredible 🖤

Love me some of THAT genre, hopefully it'll have you back to smashes too

(though not too smashy a smash so I can hang on at the top for as long as possible)

It's quite an unusual entry for us, i guess I sent Vaporous many moons ago but that was much more haunting, this is much happier.

Icelandic duo Halleluwah present 73rd Rontvian entry!

http://i2.hillycdn.com/cms/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/hellel-1.jpg

Icelandic pop duo Halleluwah will represent FSR Rontvia with the quirky hip-hop, trip hop and electro inspired beauty Dior. Ricardo Delta said: "BJSC is getting bigger and it's getting harder to stand out, so we can't just turn up with something generic and hope for the best, we need to make an impression. Kadebostany completely failed to do so and delivered us with our most resounding flop in a long time but we're hoping that the majestic stunner Dior will return us to the final. It's been a while since we looked to Iceland for an entry and we are very happy to return to such a wonderful nation for inspiration."

Dior has so far peaked at No.2 in the Rontvian charts, held off by Melodifestivalen entries and the juggernaut that is Love Me Like You Do by Ellie Goulding. It's currently at No.3, on its fourth week in the top ten. Listen to Dior below:

THIRD. FROM. LAST

A sad day in FSR Rontvia as Dior finishes 30th out of 32 entries, the worst ever performance for a Rontvian entry and the second DNQ in a row. The RTVN are in emergency crisis talks to discuss where to go next. The song climbs back to No.2 on its fourth consecutive week in the Rontvian top three.

7even for 7eventy 4our

FSR Rontvia's 74th BJSC entry will be 7even by German-Scottish DJ Andy Duguid, which features vocals by Canadian singer Jaren. The song and video are both based on the story of young cancer victim Olivia Downie. The gorgeous tribute begins as a haunting yet stunning ballad before building into a thundering trance beauty.

Ricardo Delta said: "There still really isn't anywhere near enough trance in this contest, and if it's our job to ensure that this genre is represented every now and then then so be it. This song is another example of how trance music can convey such strong power and emotion through music."

7even debuted at #4 in this week's Rontvian charts.

Did you stumble across this in the same way as 'RAMelia' incidentally? Some pretty obvious parallels between the two :P This is WONDERFUL though and should get you firmly back at the top end of the leaderboard I should think!

Sort of, both were sourced via Armin Van Buuren's various (glorious) A State Of Trance compilations <3 And yes, I can see the comparison, I guess that was more pure trance and this is slightly punchier once it gets going.

I'm glad you like it! :D

Had a listen of Semi 2 last night and this really got me. Such a stunner . Hope (and think) it'll do well for you!

i honestly cannot tell you how much i love this. best entry of yours EVER and believe me that is high praise

love how quintessential Rontvia it is as well.

15th place for 7even

7even has finished in 15th place in the 74th Buzzjack Song Contest, the final of which was held in Daehun last night. The song, which has been at No.2 in FSR Rontvia for the past fortnight, scored over 200 points but despite very good odds, including a few predictions to even win, it ended up sinking close to the middle of the pack by the end of the evening, despite an iconic 18 from Aeroche and lots of other fantastic scores which were much appreciated. It marks a return to 'hit' status for FSR Rontvia after two consecutive DNQ's, which we hope to maintain next month.

Ricardo Delta said: "Achieving a hit is becoming harder to achieve with 68 countries competing in this month's contest so it's very nice to do so well, and it was clearly very marmite with mostly high scores or nothing at all. We will need to find something slightly more universal to finish in the top ten. We were very happy with Unovia's third place as Courtney Barnett's album has been No.1 in FSR Rontvia recently and she currently has two songs in our top ten simultaneously. Well done to Persephonia too for winning, although it unfortunately didn't quite reach our votes."

FSR Rontvia received one point from Ashton and gave back nul in return. Our famous points alliance will resume in YBO.

15th out of 68 is by no means a bad result but I did think and hope it would do a bit better - thank you for introducing me to this song anyway, an absolutely stunning song/video (and a huge grower, went from 1 point in the semi to 13 in the final from me :o), definitely up there with your best entries to date.

True. To be fair I expected about that when I sent it (it MAY have even been 15th in my opening odds). Even so, I only ever expected low top ten at best for it so I'm happy enough. More to the point I'm glad that a few people have found something they love in it, it's always nice to receive comments like some of those this entry has received <3
