So I've been watching this four's videos on YouTube for the past few months now on YouTube, and they do absolutely fantastic covers, such as Just Give Me A Reason (P!nk), Let Her Go (Passenger), Walks Like Rihanna (The Wanted), Kiss You (One Direction), What About Love + Say You're Just A Friend (Austin Mahone), among a lot of others (some of which are remarkably better than the originals, might I add :kink:) - and I'm surprised there's not a thread for their début single, Can We Dance, already given they've been mentioned in a couple of threads in the chart forum already in regards to this release. Great to see that they're finally getting off the ground, and releasing something, though, and I can't wait for their album. AND JAMES MCVEY IS A KING. JUST A GOD.

The Can We Dance EP is released on 29 September (available to pre-order on iTunes now), and the track-listing is:

1. Can We Dance

2. Year 3000

3. MMM Bop

4. Teenage Kicks (Live)

Three covers there, and of course their original (the single). Surprised they've not included Wildheart on there, but it's probably a track from the album, anyway.

Listen below, and watch the video:

Such a cringy song/video combination. They look about 12 and are singing about a wild party in which they got really drunk the night before...yeah... I don't think this'll do much anyway, they're basically a young Lawson and they're hardly setting the charts alight and I don't think Radio 1 are dumb enough to playlist it.
A junior Lawson? Please. I'm sure these guys are alright really but their record company seems hellbent on styling them like guitar led pop bands were in the Busted days of pop music and both this single and video are incredibly dated. Lawson are older in sound and style admittedly but there's a fine line between doing guitar led pop music and sounding like something out of a CBBC sitcom from the turn of the decade.
It went straight to #02 on iTunes earlier today, it's currently at #04 now.
I'm seeing these at Fusion Festival in 9 days. Pretty sure they won't be my thing, but I'll be open minded. ;)

They really are milking that.

It's a nice song though, heard it on a music channel last week.

It's not really any different to other artists having CD1 and CD2 of singles, and I suppose the different CDs for each band member (although it looks unlikely Brad and Tristan will get one) is just a different take on it. :P

The boys are doing a Twitcam on 22 September, time still to be announced. Can't wait, hopefully there's more details about the album, and hype about Can We Dance ~ (nice to see James in action again too :kink:)
Are they going to release the explicit version?! I hate the fact that they cut out "shit". :(

They probably won't release the explicit version, although they could release it on iTunes with that tagged, I suppose. It'll probably be cut out on the CD single, though. :(

I love the song but whenever I hear the chorus and the "shhh", I'm just like ugh.

I feel like, if they were going to release it, it would be up for pre-order by now. :( Someone needs to contact their management and tell them they could get more sales if they put it up (even though they've put about 100000+ versions of the song on iTunes already haha).

Yeah it is a bit annoying.

Probably would have been up for pre-order by this time. Is it maybe something to do with the age of the members themselves, though? They're obviously still a teen band, whereas other people on Virgin Records such as Emeli and Naughty Boy would be permitted explicit versions? [pretty sure there's explicit lyrics in a track on Hotel Cabana]

It probably is to do with their age, but then again, why bother making a song with a swear word if they're not going to release an explicit version?

"it's cool!!!" :heehee: In seriousness though, there probably wasn't any other effective lyric they could have placed there.

We shall campaign to Virgin for an explicit version though, Dillan! :kink:

 we should! I actually really, really want an explicit version. :P

Is this their Twitter? https://twitter.com/virginrecords

Will be! ^_^

Suppose if we're that desperate for an explicit version we could tweet the boys themselves. to find a result of zero responses and no explicit version

Yeah, we'll get nothing from it. :( haha.

I love this song. NOT ASHAMED TO ADMIT THAT.
