I LIKE our new home kit and you’ll all really like the away one when you see it. It’s lovely.

 

It’s black and white but it’s fair to say that Robbie Williams and Carol Shanahan have designed something different. I think it’s going to be one of those retro shirts like the Kalamazoo one that will go down in history. It’ll stand out when people look back.

 

Now Robbie has done us a favour, I’m pretty sure he doesn’t need anything off me in return.

 

I could write a good song, I reckon, but I couldn’t sing it… and the lyrics might need an 18 certificate. If he needs a hand, I’m here.

There was a lot of talk at the time that that when Derren Brown wiped his arm - that he may have put fake skin on and that was what he put the needles through - but who knows?

The fact is: The Vienna Opera Ball has not seen so many Hollywood stars in a single evening in decades. Nevertheless, the host family Gaston and Kathrin Glock did not ring the star lineup. They rely on discretion. Anyone who is a guest here feels comfortable. The fact that world stars perform on stage as an evening program and that a selfie with Kylie Minogue or Robbie Williams practically emerges by itself gives the event not only the feel-good factor but also the necessary desire. You can only get that close to the stars at the Oscars - if you are invited there.

 

I haven't had the pleasure of attending the Oscars, but I've become immodest in the meantime. Or shall we say, thoroughly spoiled. After all, at the last GLOCK anniversary event “30 years of GLOCK in Ferlach / Austria” at the beginning of February, I had the honor and opportunity to chat with some of my personal “heroes” in Gaston and Kathrin Glock's private lounge.

 

 

Glock Lounge venue.Company founder and CEO Gaston Glock, Hollywood icon Joan Collins, Hugh Grant, Naomi Campbell and a few more well-known people from film and television are sitting at a large table with comfortable armchairs around it. There is a “come and go” atmosphere. Robbie Williams is just coming in through the door. He performed on stage for an hour and a half, had a fresh shower and changed clothes, and is accompanied by his father Peter, who, as just experienced, sings sensationally on stage in a duet with him. Robbie is a close family friend and clearly feels at home with the Glocks. Direttissima he heads for Gaston Glock and gives him a warm hug. The two exchange jokes, then spend a long time talking. Again and again you can hear them laughing they almost look like two mischievous boys entrusting secrets to each other. No question about it, they both like each other.

 

Will Robbie be ready for a group photo with my sons and husband? After all, he and our head of household have their birthday on the same day. "Really? That's cool, "says Robbie happily, congratulates my husband on the upcoming anniversary (February 13th), exchanges ideas with him about shirt designs, calls his daddy to show himself up (" He loves to be photographed ", Grins Robbie)

 

 

With so much male vanity, your writer can't keep up, so she moves on to the closest thing. It happens to be Hugh Grant. “Is this your first time here?” He asks, interested, and what my job is. Magazines, aha. “I hope not fashion magazines,” says Hugh, pointing to his wrinkled shirt collar: “I feel a little bit battered next to them,” he laughs, “but you know, I'm the father of three small children, you put others there Priorities". Also in sensational form is Joan Collins, 83, the eternal beast from the Denver Clan. She befriends our youngest son (13), he reminds her of her grandson of the same age. “My daughter converted to the Jewish faith since her wedding,” says the fantastic looking lady, “that has the advantage that we can now celebrate all Jewish family celebrations. Nothing is as funny as Jewish festivals, I recently danced wildly on my grandson's bar mitzvah ... “We trust her without question.

 

Naomi, who has had a long-standing friendship with Kathrin Glock, is also there. Has a great conversation with Gaston and is, as always, a feast for the eyes in the floor-length red tube dress. When the photographer asks Naomi and Kathrin Glock to take a photo together, my husband's big hour comes: he digs out his cell phone and actually starts to take a selfie ... "We can do it professionally," says Naomi and laughs. Stand next to him, give me his cell phone and I pull the trigger. “You still have to set the flash,” she says, “wait, I'll do it!” Getting the mobile flash set by Naomi himself is almost an uplifting feeling. And not even to be topped by an Oscar invitation. :)
