They must require his permission and some kind of royalty for him and Guy - surely?

Same as radio stations I guess when they play a track & that's about it

I got the wrong date for their anniversary

It's today. 9 years - that's like forever in showbiz terms. :cheer:

Promo king Vaughan Arnell on a life behind the lens

Ahead of his talk at the Kinsale Sharks, where he'll be sharing is thoughts and experiences from three decades of making commercials and music videos, Vaughan Arnell gives us an insight into working with some of music's most recognisable names.

I’ve got a few things wrong, a few regrets. I did one video for Robbie [Williams] recently [Love My Life]. I did this a shoot on a beach. Anyway, Guy Chambers [producer] said to me, ‘did Robbie cry?’. I said, ‘no, why?’. Turns out it was a very emotional song for him and I had no idea, and I’d done this video on a beach; classic Robbie with girls and stuff. It's one of the only times I've misunderstood the meaning of a track. I phoned up the management and asked to reshoot the video.

I thought the LML video was terrible. I only watched it once that was it.

The PLAR video on the other hand was brilliant and continues to be each time I watch it. :cheer:

PLAR is an amazing video Laura

They are back. Robbie Williams returns with a video by his long-time collaborator Vaughan Arnell, and this beguiling, bombastic, very entertaining video for Party Like A Russian delivers exactly what it says on the tin.

Following exiled oligarch Robbie and his endless swagger around a massive mansion, the singer struts his stuff, surrounded by a carousel of devilish ballerinas and tiara-wearing ballroom dancers. With the song's cheeky sampling from Prokofiev’s Dance of the Knights, Robbie seems to both parody Russia's corrupt state of affairs while simultaneously suggesting we should take some tips from them, and party with abandon.

And Vaughan is still Robbie's perfect foil. Supported by a top-notch crew – including DoP Tat Radcliffe, art director Alison Dominitz and choreographer Ashley Wallen – he orchestrates this ridiculous, eyepopping business to a tee.

I also loved the SEXED UP video, direct by Jonas Akerlund , great song also , one of my favourites

I wouldn't say the video is terrible but it is definitely uninteresting and boring. I would never have assumed that it is by Vaughan Arnell, because his videos were always much more interesting an dentertaining.

I guess it's not always easy to come up with ideas for videos plus they are mighty expensive, maybe that;s as far as the budget stretched to :P

I think he did say that - they blew the whole budget on the PLAR video

Yes, all the money went on the PLAR one, I love it though visually it's fab , must have cost quite a bit

Another video I really liked was , directed by Thomas Napper who I never heard of

I love the caption at the bottom of the pic in the shoot for Lazy Days . ' Real sky, Fake Fur '

When you think the state he was in at the start of his career - it's a miracle it even got off the ground

I'm trying to continue my annual tradition to make something for fans on Sep-10 (the date when the gig in Moscow was cancelled).

Now I'm working on translation of one of Robbie's book... At the moment thinking about book's cover.

Can you help me and advise your favourites quotes by Rob?
