Emeli was performing as part of a concert in Central Park in New York last night, and confirmed that the title of her new EP is 'Who Needs the World'.

She also performed the title track, and said this about it: ‘It’s about when you have that somebody that is everyone. Who needs the world if I have you?’

Performance below, HQ:

Cannot WAIT for this! :w00t: Glad we're finally getting more information about it, and Who Needs the World is just beautiful!

What happened to this woman taking a break? :manson:

That's never really been what she said at the BRITs. She said she was taking some time out (six months) to crack America. She's got two singles over there now, one of which is just making its way out now, and believe it or not, it's been six months since February, so she's back in the UK now with an EP.

I can't wait to hear this in HQ, I'm looking forward to album number 2 as I really love her voice

Emeli features on Alejandro Sanz's new single (alongside Jamie Foxx), The Game Is Over, and it's available to hear on 23 September. Most probably a return in favour after the Spanglish version of Next to Me was released, featuring Alejandro (and it's amazing ).

Emeli talking to Huff Post about always improving as an artist, and always making her songwriting better than it already is, and talking about the second album (so good to hear!). I hope now that she's back in the spotlight a little more she's going to push ahead with the EP release and get a new single on the go. It's been far too long, need new music!

Emeli and Brandy have spoken about working with one another after Emeli played some music from her upcoming album to her. She wants Brandy to feature on the next album, and she has also said she's hard at work writing for it. YAY <3 We could be looking at a Q4 2014 release :cheer:

In other news, she performed at the Stephen Lawrence tribute concert and spoke about how racism has affected her own life and made her a stronger person. Amazing, such an amazing woman!

Emeli Sandé says overcoming racism has made her a ”stronger person”.

The ‘My Kind of Love’ singer was one of the performers who graciously lent their time to Unity: A Concert for Stephen Lawrence – which marked the 20th anniversary of the death of race attack victim Stephen Lawrence – at The O2 arena in London last night (29.09.13) and she admits witnessing abuse towards her parents Joel and Diane Sande, who are an interracial couple, at a young age helped shape her morals as an adult.

Speaking at the event, she told BANG Showbiz: ”My parents suffered from racism being a black man and a white woman in the ’80s. It’s always been part of our lives in some way. Luckily, we haven’t suffered or it hasn’t affected our lives too severely. But it’s who I represent, it’s who I am, and it’s made me a much stronger person.”

Having experienced racism firsthand, the 26-year-old songbird feels a kinship with Stephen’s family, especially his mother Doreen, who has tirelessly campaigned to end racism and street violence in the wake of her son’s death in 1993.

She said: ”To be asked to perform and to bring my music here was a big deal for me. The Lawrence family have been part of my life from a distance from when I was very young. To be here now feels really incredible.”

Is this still coming out? Is she just waiting for an X Factor slot?

She said in an interview during the summer that she was still working on it, and that's probably in terms of the late stages, putting the finishing touches on it, etc - because she had been saying at the beginning of the year (February/March) that she was working on a new EP. Should be announced/released towards the end of this month/November. ^_^

Emeli's been performing a new song called 'One Day' on her American tour(s), so hopefully it's another song from this EP, looking forward to it a lot now.
