Vulkyria was fine but the other two were highlights in a rather average semi.

No losses if it prevents any of them getting through and I didn't see any of them helping Oscar's chances. :kink:

Well, I've misjudged the timing of the deadline (of course I did!) and I'm not at home ATM but will send the votes (which have been ready for a few days now) as soon as I get in within the next hour if Randomfurlong still accepts them.

 

It's not as much as so I can qualify, more of helping my favourites getting there! 😢

'Layou' </3 'Drones' definitely had major growing potential too. Hope by some miracle they don't both DNQ now.

The deadline has been expressly stated numerous times and because there was a reminder sent out with that deadline, from a mod's perspective, I'm more than inclined to side with David on the inflexibility of the deadline.

 

 

Unless of course there is a 12 for Ashton in there and we won't qualify without it, in which case: David, let the man vote!

I didn't get your votes by the stated deadline and if they change things so that someone qualifies that wouldn't have otherwise (and doesn't qualify that wouldn't have otherwise), they'll cry that it's unfair. This court is firm on the matter I'm afraid.

Well I do get all that about a STATED deadline and all, but in the end this is an online game... It's a bit harsh being left out when I'm pleading to let my votes count even if I get a deduction...

To be honest, personally I wouldn't. It happened numerous times in other games I took part. For me it's about coming together as a group and enjoying the music. Even if it meant that I'd be DNQ due to that person's votes at least that was a fairer reflection of the overall group. But maybe I'm alone here thinking like that...

There was plenty of fair warning that your votes would not be counted past the deadline of 2pm on Saturday. As far as I am concerned David did more than enough to publicise that it was not a midnight deadline and that votes would not be accepted after that deadline.

 

Not voting in the semi-finals does not affect your participation for next month. It is ONLY failure to vote in the final that prohibits you from entering the following month.

 

 

And with that I'm drawing a line under this. Your votes will not be accepted, accept that and double check the deadline next time a voting thread goes up. We really don't give much of a shit how other online contests are run, they aren't BJSC.

To be honest, I agree with you in that for me, it's also foremost about enjoying the music. But it's also a contest and I have to be fair and run it according to the rules. You didn't send the votes before the deadline so I can't accept them. It's not personal in any way, but I have to keep to the rules and what I said.

I'm going to also side with David on this matter. If late votes were accepted, then in future similar circumstances this would most likely happen again with late voting nations making excuses saying how previous BJSC contests accepted late voters. The deadline is there for a reason and it isn't like you had only one day to vote, it was open for almost a week. For those who voted on time and obeyed by it, it would be incredibly harsh on them to suddenly DNQ because some late voter managed to affect the results of a semi-final significantly.
