Atlantis is acting as a replacement for Merlin, and is written by the same people. It begins this autumn on BBC One.

Looks rather good, and seems as though it has a more enthralling premise than Merlin, but we shall have to see. And SARAH PARISH, aka. QUEEN is in this so it's automatically going to be AMAZING.

I saw that trailer the other night and it looked quite good. Might tune in to it.
This actually looks like a superb replacement for Merlin. Sure I recognised some from As If in the trailer but I don't think it was her.

So glad to see Sarah Parish is playing a villain, she's so bloody good at it! (Remembering her as Lady Catrina in Merlin, stunning performance!) Can't wait to see her in this. <3

Is that Medusa as in the snake haired lady? If so, this has definitely grabbed my interest. This will take some beating to match Merlin (series finale aside), but I could use a bit of cluing up on greek mythology.

Apparently this is Medusa before she was "snake-haired", although it would be good if they had the 'change' in Series 2 (if there is one).

“the tone of the show is very dark, but at the same time, we wanted to have fun as well, and that’s a way of sort of recreating the legend before it happens, so just as we’re having fun with the character, Jason, you know, with Medusa, we see her before she becomes a snake‑haired goddess.”

Worth it just for this

I just heard the trailer for this on the chart show and it sounds right up my street. I love Greek mythology (characters called Jason, Hercules, Pythagoras, Medusa and Ariadne in the same show YAY). Never watched Merlin properly but if it's as a replacement for this I guess it should be good, will definitely remember to give this a watch.
Oh I didn't even notice that! That's just increased my anticipation by 110%. This is going to be HEAVEN. *.*
I'm looking forward to this as well but iplayer here I come, 8:20pm start :(
When does it start?

28th Sept (Sat)

Ooh great, looking forward to it!

Is that after your bedtime?

Nope... X Factor clash

Oh how kind of the BBC... Brand new show and its ratings are going to end up SHIT for the first episode clashing with the biggest prime-time show on ITV.
IIRC Merlin clashed with X Factor when it was MUCH more popular and it always fared really well (at least from what I remember), they seem to have very high hopes this will do the same.

In essence, just a WATERY Merlin.

The script can be piss weak but I love anything set in the past *.*

Episode 1 is titled 'The Earth Bull'.
