Great for Robbie, looks like he will have one of the best selling albums of 2013! It has been a long time since his last return to no1. Normally, he should still be no1 or no2 next week too. Is there any promo lined up? (main rivals 1D have the XF B-) )

Strictly Come Dancing next Saturday night ... live Final

so proud of him. he remains a force tp be reckoned with. He is still massive - in his 2 core markets across the canal, UK & Germany.. and would anyone have predicted that he dominates little Germany: Austria as well?

IFPI platinum award is in the bag now.

And guess what, the album deserves every bit the success it received so far because the music is astoundingly amazing. Swing II is a great sequel - musically and now commercially too.

I think Robbie must be feeling pretty pleased tonight ;)

Saturday night will count for the next week though

Shame he may have to settle for a no2...

Either way I think he will be very happy at it's progress so far

Well done Robbie. Noticed he's at No 1 in my local Asda

Yip. There is no denying 'Swing' is very popular at the moment. Popularity which I really struggle to comprehend

I went on Ticketmaster earlier to see if tickets were available for his O2 concerts, could of got some standing ones straight away.

Can't be sold out yet then

You'll end up buying some. You do know that

 yeah, bit dangerous going on there and clicking buttons.

I don't want to go..

I am so uninterested I haven't even been tempted to access Ticketmaster... -_-

I think my days of going to concerts are over, I'm not interested in seeing anyone at the moment tbh, would rather

save my money for other things.

Sign of getting old?

Yip.

I quite fancy going to the theatre to see plays. Sign of me becoming cultured?

Robbie Williams claims Christmas 2013’s biggest selling album

22/12/2013

Robbie Williams beats One Direction and Gary Barlow to the Official 2013 Christmas Number 1 Album with Swings Both Ways.

Congratulations to Robbie Williams who has claimed the Official 2013 Christmas Number 1 Album today with Swings Both Ways.

The Take That star’s latest full-length, which retuned to the Official Albums Chart summit last Sunday, was neck-and-neck with One Direction’s Midnight Memories and Gary Barlow’s Since I Saw You Last midweek in an incredibly close race. However, it’s Robbie who’s the undisputed king of the swingers this Christmas, with One Direction trailing behind in second place with a gap of less than 200 copies, and Gary Barlow, third.

It has been a battle royal between the Take That men and 1D, as all three albums have sold over 116,000 copies over the last seven days, with Swings Both Ways and Midnight Memories clocking up more than 126,000 sales apiece.

One Direction now have the biggest selling artist album released in the UK in 2013. If sales continue at this rate, the 1D boys could overtake Emeli Sande’s Our Version Of Events as the overall biggest album of 2013 come the end of the year.

Swings Both Ways, which became the UK’s 1000th Number 1 album after debuting at the top spot last month, is Robbie’s second big band album. He previously topped the Official Christmas Albums Chart in 2001 with Swing When You’re Winning.

Meanwhile, Olly Murs’ Right Place, Right Time and Beyonce’s new self-titled album remain static at Number 4 and Number 5, respectively.

The week’s highest climber is The Killers’ Direct Hits, which climbs 15 places to Number 10 today.

The Official Albums Chart Top 10 is as follows. Click here to see the Official Albums Chart Top 100 in full after 7pm.

Well I am doing both, off to Vancouver in May :w00t: & then to London in July to see Robbie doing his Swing thing :cheer: , both I am really looking forward to :yahoo:

albums stays at #1 in the three German markets: Germany (3 weeks #1), Switzerland (3 weeks #1) and Austria (5 weeks #1).

Swings should be eligible for double platinum in Germany (400,000).

Swings has probably shipped 1m copies between Germany (300k certified) and The UK (540k sold).
