October 4, 201311 yr Congratulations to anyone who picked Mariah-AIWFCIY for this week - she appeared at #1456 yesterday, moving up to #1231 as of a few minutes ago. :) OH MY GOD, THAT WAS ME!!! I feel like I'm in a game of Bingo - THAT WAS ME!!! I WAS RIGHT! Oh, wait, I was the week before. Never mind, close enough. Edited October 4, 201311 yr by Michael!
October 5, 201311 yr Damn, I thought it would have been Cheeky Girls' 'Have A Cheeky Christmas'. Alex Range would've been happy. :P Go and download 'Have A Cheeky Christmas' :) Some good choices for downloading on Christmas 2013 : - Florin Street Band - Britney Spears - Fast Food Rockers - Mel Smith & Kim Wilde and Me & My (if their Xmas song is available on British I-Tunes) Not Christmas songs, but the spirit of winter for me : - ABBA - Happy New Year - Bucks Fizz - The Land Of Make Believe - Steps - Heartbeat
October 8, 201311 yr The Pogues are at #1172 currently and Mariah is #1164. The guitarist from The Pogues died today so that probably means there will be another campaign to get 'Fairytale of New York' to Xmas #1.
October 9, 201311 yr Author The Pogues are at #1172 currently and Mariah is #1164. The guitarist from The Pogues died today so that probably means there will be another campaign to get 'Fairytale of New York' to Xmas #1. Was there any of us who didn't think Shane McGowan would be the first to go?
October 10, 201311 yr Some good choices for downloading on Christmas 2013 : - Florin Street Band - Britney Spears I'd really love these would become sizeable Christmas hits at some point.
October 10, 201311 yr [insert suspicions of N-S / various other posters being members of the Florin Street Band street team]
October 10, 201311 yr Was there any of us who didn't think Shane McGowan would be the first to go? Philip Chevron (the guitarist in question) didn't exactly live a totally sober life either.
October 11, 201311 yr [insert suspicions of N-S / various other posters being members of the Florin Street Band street team] No I'm not a member. I just love that song like nuts.
October 11, 201311 yr How many units must a single sell to chart in iTunes top 1500? If vidcapper buys two, would that be enough? Edited October 11, 201311 yr by SKOB
October 11, 201311 yr Author Philip Chevron (the guitarist in question) didn't exactly live a totally sober life either. True, but AIUI he died of cancer, rather than, say, liver failure?
October 11, 201311 yr Author How many units must a single sell to chart in iTunes top 1500? If vidcapper buys two, would that be enough? Grin. I would guess a song would need to sell between 30-50 copies a day to make the T1500. Edited October 11, 201311 yr by vidcapper
October 11, 201311 yr How many copies can one buy until it's "too much" towards the official chart and seen as manipulation?
November 3, 201311 yr Author The two biggies have now been in for ages... 261. All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey 509. Fairytale of New York - The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl But one of the others has turned up at last... 1405. Last Christmas (Single Version) - Wham!
November 3, 201311 yr "Gaudete" by Erasure got up to about 170 a week or so ago, but has since disappeared from the top 1500

Last Christmas (Single Version) - Wham! :yahoo: Last Christmas in there happy days, you'll see a lot more in the coming weeks as people start stocking their iPods up for December music. Wonder if they will reduce them to 59p this year again. Scott Mills played Mariah on Friday there because it was nov 1st lol wonder if that's the first spin of an Xmas song this yr, prob not theres radio stations that play them all year isn't there?
November 3, 201311 yr Author :yahoo: Last Christmas in there happy days, you'll see a lot more in the coming weeks as people start stocking their iPods up for December music. I prefer Cascada's cover of it. ;)
November 3, 201311 yr Serious? No way the originals the best for me. Out of all the Xmas mainstays on the radio each December it's the one I grow least bored of. Others inc pogues, Mariah, Slade & Band Aid just get repetitive. Love newbies like Christmas Lights by Coldplay, Boots by the Killers & ones like the Pretenders, Greg Lake & The Darkness!
