Posted October 7, 201311 yr How I compile my charts: With a few exceptions, I don't go out of my way to seek out new songs - I usually wait until I hear them on the radio. I mainly listen to Radio 1 and for this reason, most (though not all) songs in my chart are those which are played on Radio 1. I don't usually add a song to my chart until it's started gaining some airplay. Songs generally tend to climb gradually as they grow on me, peak and then fall fast, so the chart looks similar to an 80's/90's singles chart. I also usually get bored of a song within a few weeks, so songs don't generally tend to hang around the chart for more than a few weeks - typically around 9 or 10 weeks for a Number 1. Shame it's looking likely not to have a resurge and make the Top 40 but I'm sure there will be opportunities for future singles. I've heard this quite a few times on radio/TV but I never remember that it's a Tinie Tempah song. In fact, thinking back, all I can remember is John Martin's lines! I like it a lot though, so much better than 'Trampoline' - one of the worst hits of the year, probably only beaten by DJ Fresh's 'Earthquake'. :puke: Icona Pop's new single was on TV today; not too sure what to think of it but it's certainly not as good as 'I Love It'. I don't think they'll ever top that, quality-wise or chart-wise.

I think the problem with the John Newman song is that it just sounds like a less good version of Love Me Again, he should have released something a bit different. Still, he'll at least get another Top 10 out of it (and more importantly for him a Top 20 on my chart :P) The Lorde song is definitely gonna smash, I just wish Tennis Court could have smashed too!
