October 25, 201311 yr That just shows how little ITunes affects the album chart outside the top 10 :P
October 25, 201311 yr But What About Us did meet all the requirements: it was released early in the campaign AND it was a proper hit. They didn't even need to go on tour over the continent; even novel artists get playlisted in most countries before they've made any promotion there, aside from sending the song and a press release. All of this to say that if they still want to be profitable and to do some business overseas the only option is to release Not Giving Up. They can easily take the spot of the 'Rihanna dance track in the fall' and appeal to the same public. And the fact that they are a group can be distinctive enough not to seem like a ripoff. I think i quite understand what ' What about us ' campaign did to them - It pushed a great deal of singles and 'On Your Radar' to Silver status. They tagged some major 'On your radar' tracks with almost every performance of 'What about us'. I sure am positive that this too will get Silver certified or probably even Gold with tours and live performances of album tracks. Can see as per Jay's update - Chasing lights peaked during its 13th week.
October 25, 201311 yr If NGU is released or wen Leave a light on, it will have a good chance of re-peaking or back into the top 10
October 25, 201311 yr It's best chance to re-peak will be Not Giving Up smashing in January with a price reduction for the album. Kind of like Calvin Harris this year (Drinking From The Bottle and 18 Months being reduced/benefiting from the single).
October 25, 201311 yr Calvin Harris has benefited with this album cause of the bagillion singles he's released from it!! 18 months is how long he expects it to chart you see :heehee:

I was saying, a January price reduction and hit single could boost the album up the chart close to a re-peak. Another example is Rita Ora! Regardless of how well it sold after from other singles, the point about taking advantage of the New Year lull still stands!
October 25, 201311 yr Pixie lott is another example. Album reached it's peak again after Kiss the stars (didn't re peak though :( )

October 25, 201311 yr It didn't re-peak but yeah, it rose. Would've been on 100,000 copies if it hadn't been discontinued and removed
October 25, 201311 yr Their management won't make advantage of New Year. They didn't bother giving Headlines a price reduction over Christmas (even when it was in the top 75 selling and could have had a bigger boost), they done f*** all with On Your Radar the minute it left the charts and you can guarantee they'll not do anything over December/January with this album.
October 25, 201311 yr YOU can guarantee it if you want but they've always had plans for January releases. Issues, Ego and even a planned faster was supposed to be releasedjanuary 2013. I doubt that they won't do anything
October 26, 201311 yr #34 throughout the midweeks (Tues, Wed, Thurs & Fri!) so... #34 on Sunday?
