Mid #90.

Ugh. :/

I hope they can manage to hang in there.

Mid #90.

Ouch. I reckon it'll do what it's been doing since it came out and stick around the same midweek position until Sunday.

Hopefully it will get a boost next week from Paul O'Grady though!

It's not completely doomed. I think it'll go back up sooner or later (Probably later). Albums aren't always like singles where, once they're gone, they're usually gone. If they release another single which I presume they will (*COUGH*Not Giving Up*COUGH), it'll help the album. They didn't release any singles post album release last time, which would have shifted a couple more copies.

Also, they're doing a bit more promo for Disco Love which will help in the long run.

So the signing they did yesterday didn't help at all...

They were signing 'postcards' and 'nokia lumeas' apparently.

Yet if they'd have booked some actual signings (three? and 500 at each one?) they'd have sold enough to go top 40 again no doubt.

I think album signing is not really something they can do when one member of the band is not there. They'll maybe do some when Frankie's back, so that fans can have all 5 girls' signature.

At this point, they could definitely do one signing every week. It would be just enough to keep them each week over 1k (the signings + the album actually shifting a few copies on itself, people who heard Disco Love, etc, etc) which is what you have to sell to be in the top 100 right now.

Frankie doesn't have to be at the signings, though. She can sign the sleeves in her own time and the girls can add to it. I know it's not ideal but there'll still be members of the public who'll want to meet the other girls and its such an easy and instant form of sellng the album, but oh well. They didn't bother doing signings for On Your Radar or Headlines either did they? Yet they done a signing for 30 Days and their calendar.

Frankie is a new mom. She doesnt have time to sit around signing cd sleeves of discs that should be for sale in stores.

also.. they arn't gonna print a bunch of discs in addition to the ones sitting on shelves not selling now are they

She could have signed them well before she got pregnant.

The album industry in general is a laughing stock right now. I wouldn't even worry one bit about them being at #90-odd. There's what, 1 copy separting each release in the bottom end of the Top 100?

I'm excited that they're still going to be out there pushing the album and Disco Love. Paul loves the girls and they love Paul; it's been so long since they've performed on one of his shows. Great promotion.

It's a shame in this climate there's not as many music-specific shows to promote on no more, and add that to the growing concern of radio play.. If you can get airplay then you're pretty safe. All of their radio hits have done well. It's just more difficult when radio appear to be reluctant to play you and there's not much more they can do apart from the usual daytime tv rounds.

They seem to really want to sell this album though which is good news. Cheers to the next single *clink* ^_^

I don't see the theory that if you do a signing more people will buy your record.

Who goes to signings? Fans. Will fans by the record with or without a signing? Yes. A signing just makes things a bit more personal. I don't really think it drums up many more sales. If people want to buy your record they will find a way.

That drop is awful and I would be a little scared for them right now if it wasn't for Paul I Grady which should guarantee another top 100 week. They could easily steer this campaign around if they only don't ditch it and keep releasing singles and promoting. COUGH* Ellie goulding *COUGH* who revived her Halcyon campaign which has gone platinum and given her her first #1 single

Well, I comparison to Lights ;) other example, Pixie Lott Younug Foolish Happy, they managed to push it up to GOLD before ditching it

im not gone even entertain that comment.

I agree - I think for an album signing all the girls should really be there. Otherwise in a few years it's like, 'why is there a Saturday missing'...

And I think Frankie signing thousands on her own is a silly idea.

Is it?

It's business. They have to sell their product. If they have an album coming out and are short for promotional opportunities then a signing is a logical answer. If one member can't make the signings, then the best they can do is have four people do the signings and have the fifth member sign their sleeves in advance. It's no big deal. As long as the fans know Frankie won't be there and that her signature is still on the sleeves then there's no issue. It'll still have all five signatures. It's better than doing nothing for months until she returns.
