Una said on twitter on Friday ' Not Giving Up ' was her favourite track from ' Living For The Weekend'.

Well that's not what she said when asked about her favorite track for the past two months. Maybe she finally realised her taste was shitty and she finally acknowledge the amazingness of Not Giving Up.

They need to be making money from SOMETHING surely. On Your Radar bombed and most successful single of that era only sold about 220K. 30 Days was a flop, What About Us was a big #1 but hasn't even went Gold yet, Gentleman flopped, Disco Love was a minor hit and Living For The Weekend has flopped. Where will they get the money from to make ANOTHER album and promote singles on TV shows etc? Not to mention their TV show was a disaster in the US (although it was a big success here). If they can't afford the best songs for this album, how can they possibly afford a whole new campaign?

So its better for them to continue with (supposedly) making a loss with this campaign?

Glad to hear Una has seen the light. No doubt Frankie will also fight for Not Giving Up as it's one of the few tracks where she actually has a discernible solo. Plus she has excellent taste. I'm sure Mollie has realized by now that Anywhere With You will never be a single, so she has surely jumped on the Not Giving Up bandwagon. Vanessa more than likely doesn't care. Rochelle will be fighting the Leave A Light On battle alone no doubt, although I can see the Queen getting her way.

Someone I know on a French forum is pretty adamant on the fact that Leave A Light On is the next single and it's out in February.

I decided not to believe him.

I really hope it isn't, the last time we had a ballad as a single where three of them do nothing it flopped hard.
I think they'll go with Not Giving Up, as it's clearly what the majority of the fans want.
or abandon the campaign since that's what they usually do. They really need another chasing Lights era!!
Where they record the album before releasing any singles. They just need to make pure pop music, they may not reach #1 but their proceeding album will probably benefit more.
They can release two versions, one for pop fans, one for dance fans...........and if they want to do country, they can release country version of those songs!
i think there will be another single from LFTW - this time the single *could* outpeak the likes of Higher and Work as the album has only been purchased by fans, not casual buyers

10 and 22 is quite a big difference.

I agree, I think Not Giving Up would outpeak Work, Higher AND Ego. I think they'll announce it in a couple weeks and then do a late January release. That will give them time to shoot the video as Frankie is set to return before Christmas.
I think if it managed to peak at 9 or 10 that would be a triumph - but any slow cilmb into the top 15 would also be great. It's difficult for post-album singles these days, even for the biggest artists. Little Mix didn't manage it with their last campaign. But then again - people had actually bought their album. :heehee:

Actually you need to compare their debut with chasing lights which has not been outsold yet. On the other hand, I'm one hundred percent sure salute will outsell wordshaker

Since album sales are not upto expectations, they can release a major set of the songs as singles , like what Katy, did with Teenage Dream, to completely get its worth. They have chances to lure the public with fresh innovative videos. Moreover , radios play only singles and don't play album tracks....
In what world though?

Remember Shania's album UP? It had country, rock and even indian version with the entire set of songs. People need to innovate.

It's sad to think how optimistic we all were following the first week sales of ' What About Us ' It looked like a certain 400,000 + and looked likely of managing to be in the YTD top 40.

It's struggled to pass 380,000 and it would be an achievement if it managed to end the year on 390,000 sales.

I'm hoping we see The Saturdays' performing on shows like Text Santa during Christmas, even if it's just to perform an album track!

I can see them doing TOTP this year for WAU. I can see it briefly returning into the top 40 (at least on iTunes) after too. Maybe not make it officially though. 'Gentleman' royally screwed the era up. At the time I was one of the "supporters" of it being a risk but hoping it could have managed to be one that paid off slightly thanks to the success of 'What About Us', but now that we have facts/the chart runs/sales etc.. it definitely killed all momentum they had.

They didn't seem to capitalise on the flopping of that single quickly enough for them to just brush over it. It really should have been 'Disco Love' 2nd and that would have been a slightly less successful WAU, but I think with the momentum they had it would have done better than it has done and airplay would have been a lot higher for them.

If they release another single and it's anything other than 'Not Giving Up' then they're officially idiots.

That goes for whoever would be behind that decision making process.
