I'm intrigued that they're doing another single, but they do have 4 tracks from The Jam and I'd imagine that saved the label some $$$.

Yeh if they use producers and writers from the label it reduces the cost by a lot. What About Us would have made a decent amount of money itself I would imagine. Then they have Disco Love and Gentlemen and I doubt they would have made a loss. Public appearances get a lot of money also so I think they are fine.

If they are planning a tour and especially if it's an arena tour then they must have some disposable income as I doubt the label would risk one if they didn't.

Just saw an interview they did at Free Radio. When asked what they would be doing in 2014 Mollie said that they'll "continue promoting their new album Living For The Weekend and release more singles." Hopefully that will put the speculation that they're already moving on to the next album to rest.

I know this is really bad, but even in this sales climate, that is pathetic. :( I wonder how much profit they made on this album so far. Really now all they need is a what about us sized hit and then they could advertise the album and get decent sales from it. No one even knows it's out :o

altogether if the albums were £10 each they made £180,000 on the album so far. surely it didn't cost that much to produce?

Plus theres probably around £500,000 from worldwide sales of What About Us, £125,000 from worldwide sales of Disco Love and about £50 from Gentleman worldwide sales.

I wouldn't worry, they also get personal appearance fees, merch deals, individually they all have solo projects - well Una, Molls and Roch do.

It's not just the album that needs covered, though. I'd imagine everyone associated with The Sats gets paid, and the money must come from SOMEWHERE. If you take away the cost for studio time, paying producers, paying song writers, artwork, printing the album, sleeves etc you also have to pay for the girls to travel to these recordng sessions with first class flights, pay the guy who drives the girls round everywhere, pay for the make up and wardrobe crew, pay for all the managers and staff at the record label, paying the actual girls themselves and then paying for TV slots and promotion, oh and the cost for music videos which is a massive team of professionals even if the videos are shit.

I still to this day believe What About Us video was paid for by E! as it was part of the show, hence why the follow up video looked so shockingly shit in comparrison.

Gentleman's video would look shit in comparison to any of their other videos. All greenscreen, isn't a great look.

Of course ' What About Us ' video was commissioned by E! as was there USA PROMO.

They really need to either focus fully on the UK or go all out for it next year by promoting everywhere! I believe ' What About Us ' did better than expected due to it's hype from the United States.

What About Us is the best song they've ever recorded, that's why it was a hit. I guess Chasing The Saturdays doing so well on E! UK also helped but it was such an amazing song that I couldn't ever see it flopping.

They've missed their chance with America but I hope they at least try and promote across Europe. It'd make things a bit more interesting instead of the same UK schedule every year.

I wouldn't say they've got no chance in America. The thing is that had Rochelle and Frankie not got pregnant this album campaign would have went so much better! I'm sure they would still be promoting living for the weekend in America. I'd assume that they only reason they never supported Justin Bieber was because of the pregnancy!

All I know is that I can't see Living For The Weekend picking up anytime soon, single five could have a gap off 4 months which means the album will have little effect!

... Pay the PR, pay their A&R, the label has a part too...

Who else could get paid too?

For their first time in America they had E! behind them which had them connections to all the massive TV shows and gave them a well promoted reality show. They also had the "first girl band to try break America" thing going on and at that time, there was only one baby and one other pregnancy.

If they go back, they won't have E! behind them any more which means they'd HAVE to start from the bottom and do endless radio tours and gigs and it could be months before they even get radio on board. Do you really think they'll bother doing all the travelling and hard work especially considering it's The Saturdays and they now have three babies? Oh, and since this album has bombed they probably can't even afford to go to America for months any way. Throw in the fact Little Mix have now started to blow up over there (they've had two instant grat songs go top ten on US iTunes already) means they have now lost any chance of getting any attention as a stand alone UK girl band and I can't see why anyone in their right mind would even think of breaking America.
