January 21, 201411 yr 'Disco Love' climbed to #118 last week and its midweek position as of yesterday is #114.
January 21, 201411 yr Thanks, that's a great climb! Hopefully they'll still manage this week in the top 200, due to the two days it was featured.
January 21, 201411 yr It's been 59p for a couple of months now, but was only added to the 59p section last week, which briefly had it jumping up the chart. Sadly, they hid the 59p store this week.
January 23, 201411 yr The Saturdays charted at 118. on Sunday :) with around 1800 sales. Edited January 23, 201411 yr by JSG
January 26, 201411 yr Disco Love re-entered the Official Irish Singles Chart this week at #95! :cheer: :yahoo: Doing better chart wise in Ireland that the uk :o
February 3, 201411 yr Only 70k to go until Silver! http://mashable.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/crying-waterfalls.gif http://mashable.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/crying-waterfalls.gif http://mashable.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/crying-waterfalls.gif
February 3, 201411 yr Ways they might have gone silver - if they were added to the 59p store within the first 5/6 weeks of released - if they'd chosen to perform Disco Love on strictly, when it was still reletively fresh. But 130+ is not bad considering it's massive drop in the first couple of weeks and the fact it was out of the top 200 after 10 weeks. I thought it was only going to make around 80k at one point.
February 3, 201411 yr I'm so glad this is having some longevity, even if the total sales are not that special. But the fact there's still interest in them bodes well for a fifth single.
February 3, 201411 yr I'd say it's done alright for them really, a decent enough recovery for them after 'Gentleman' did a lot of damage.
February 3, 201411 yr Agreed, 130k sales is pretty decent, especially for a song that had such weak radio airplay.
February 3, 201411 yr See when songs like Gentleman come along, do they actually the tarnish the band that's released them though? I mean, in my mind if a song is terrible it doesn't necessarily mean that they are all gonna be bad?
February 3, 201411 yr I think it killed radio play a little, and perhaps DL would have been bigger had it carried on from the momentum built up by What About Us. But these girls have been around a long time, and they can easily flop one single and be huge the next, so there is defo life in the old dog yet :)
February 3, 201411 yr I wouldn't use the word 'interesting'. More disheartening and frustrating. They really need to bounce back from the low album and singles sales, and without a moderate, recent hit, the tour might not sell. Edited February 3, 201411 yr by joepassmore
February 3, 201411 yr Imagine if they returned from '30' Days with 'Gentleman'?! I certainly think 'What About Us' is what kept their career going last year. If they returned from a gap with a huge flop like 'Gentleman' then they'd probably have taken time out for a break, or even split.
February 3, 201411 yr This wouldn't have got any bigger a boost had it been performed over What About Us on Strictly, at all. No-one gets that big a boost from performing there unless you're someone targeted at the older audience who generally watch Strictly. Let's face it, The Sats are hardly aimed at an older audience.
