I still believe that a Greatest Hits would have far more selling power than a studio album, which clearly just isn't an appealing prospect to the buying public.

 

Again, I don't see a Greatest Hits selling more than a studio album with two Google hangouts as the only promo during the release week. Sorry, but I just can't. :unsure:

It will probably sell more because the general public will know at least half the songs on there. It might be that they never wanted to buy a studio album because they only liked a few singles, I guess a GH would allow them to own singles from different albums on one album!

We don't know that they wouldn't do promo. I tell you though, if I was their manager, I'd have them everywhere!!! Adverts, the lot!! They'd make the money back for sure.

In all fairness, I'd say they need to try and keep this album going for a bit. Otherwise, their discography won't be looking too good

But that's exactly it. The MAIN point is promo. How can CD sell if no one knows it's out and no one is promoting it to masses? :unsure: If Living For The Weekend was a Greatest Hits, it would have done exactly the same as this studio album, with possibly a few extra sales apparently (not too sure about that, but hey), but it would still be #34 in the midweeks because there's no promo to keep it afloat.

 

Again, I'm not moaning about their management, I'm just saying promo is the key.

To be fair, I do agree. I have a feeling it will stabilize at about #80-ish in the top 100 before the next single is out
