If that happens it'll be the first time anything like it has happened since the "Brit invasion" started. I don't think a British artist that got a hit with a song that was a hit a year ago has managed to successfully follow that hit up with another old song. Notable examples of failures being 'In For The Kill' and most recently, 'Bad Blood'.

 

I think the best course of action would be what Ellie did. Make the 2nd US single the lead single to album #2.
