Quite amazing... nicest thing about the digital era (irrespective of how I feel of an artist per se) is the relative ease for foreign artists to crack the US.

Sam Smith's song is up to #6 and the album is up to #4! Wow... nearly 24 hours since SNL but the effect hasn't worn out yet. A lot of news outlets here are pitching him as "from UK bartender to SNL" kind of fairy tale story a la Susan Boyle. R we looking at a similar success story as well?!

I remember a while back the "Brit invasion" seemed to be waning but now there are 15 songs featuring British artists in the top 100, which is something of a feat surely? :o We just need One Direction to get a move on with an actual follow up single to 'Story of My Life' (why didn't they milk 'What Makes You Beautiful' for this long?) and it'll keep ticking over.

Only thing I worry about is some sort of "Brit overexposure" - don't want British artists to become so common that people start to get sick of them :lol: I actually worried that was the reason 'Skyfall' was performing so poorly on radio back in the day.
