Posted November 27, 201311 yr http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g338/drwhofan1997/EOY_zps0e29c7ba.png Well good evening to you too. Tonight marks the beginning of a countdown of the best, most wonderful and the down right beautiful music that 2013 has graced us with. We've 10 artists, 20 albums, 150 songs and an uncountable amount of statistics to wade through. Going hand in hand with this will be a small countdown of the top 5 most successful songs in my personal chart this year, as well as a few artists to look out for in 2014 (be they upcoming or developed making their way BACK). I'm sure everybody will be just as shocked as I am at who, in my opinion, the best artist of the year is (or is that a bluff?). Which of the many songs featured in both my chart and an iTunes library will come out on top, and what is THE album of the year? Find out soon. (In the meantime, HYPE + SPECULATION = appreciated) http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/500/86350365/Nicole%20Scherzinger%20Boomerang2png.png ~ IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ZAYN MALIK ~ http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g338/drwhofan1997/tumblr_mwcg847UgH1qcfgpgo3_r1_500_zpsd0f7ef5a.png http://i1096.photobucket.com/albums/g338/drwhofan1997/tumblr_mwcg847UgH1qcfgpgo5_r1_500_zpsf0981a70.png

Becky G) Conquer the World (feat. Brandy) Kicking off this year's countdown and coming in at #20 in the top albums of the year is Jessie J. 'Alive' is her second studio album, and while the first was a good effort with amazing songs such as 'Domino', 'Who You Are' and later (what I believe to be her best song, and the best she ever will do) 'LaserLight'. This is a much stronger album on the whole and the message, while in the first album it was quite clear with the afore-mentioned 'Who You Are', seems more visible. It has the potential to produce several hits, and it's probably going to stand the test of time against her début. It's a shame that lead single 'Wild' isn't quite as great as some of the highlights on the album - it's not *bad*, but just not amazing.
November 27, 201311 yr SO much better than her first album  This is so much easier to listen to. Sexy Lady and Excuse My Rude NEED to be released.

Sean Paul) Disco Love Leave A Light On You Don't Have the Right Wildfire In at #19 is the fifth album from British girl group, The Saturdays. While it has a fair few highlights, including possibly the best song they have ever recorded ('Leave A Light On'), it seems a bit of a messy album on the whole. It seems they're just singing for the sake of it now; unlike their older music with songs such as 'Missing You' and 'Ego', 'Notorious' and 'All Fired Up'. 'What About Us' gave the girls their first #1 earlier this year, and even if it should have been the later-single 'Disco Love', it's great to see one of their best songs doing so well for them! (with Sean de Paul) Overall, it's not really as great as 'Headlines!' or 'On Your Radar', but it definitely has songs that on their own challenge ALL of the songs on those albums, even if some of them are spectacular.
November 27, 201311 yr Author 18 http://radyogeveze.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/ZbpZ6kW-300x300.jpg 'Midnight Memories' One Direction Chart Run (2) Highlights Best Song Ever Story of My Life Diana You & I Strong Happily Does He Know? Managing to secure a place in the top 20 after the album was released only two days ago are One Direction. 'Midnight Memories' is their third studio album and serves as the follow up to what is their best album so far, 'Take Me Home'. This still has room to grow though. It's probably their most inventive album, and one that is influenced rather differently to the normal pop songs they produce. While the album does have those ('Best Song Ever', 'Story of My Life', 'Does He Know?'), there's a strong rock influence as well, and that really shows in songs like 'Midnight Memories' and 'Little Black Dress'. The latter is probably the weakest on the album, but on the whole this is a strong effort from the five boys. It's great too that Zayn seems to have loads of vocals this time around (he appears to gradually get more and more with each album).
November 27, 201311 yr TOO LOW. I feel Zayn actually has less on this than Take Me Home, he had a LOT there (and on Up All Night tbf). I don't know if that's just me not noticing him or what though.
November 28, 201311 yr Author 17 http://www.shinseido.co.jp//resource/cm_images/ssd/0/00000080/P2_G1669660W.JPG 'Rooftop' Ulrik Munther Chart Run (4-1-4-3-5-5-6-10-15-16-17-20-19-17-19-18-20-19-19-20-17-18-18-19-19-20) Highlights Tell the World I'm Here Crash Test Dummy Requiem Thousand Years 8:45 After many weeks of Sandénian chart success, Swedish hottie Ulrik Munther manages to sit firmly in the top 20 albums of 2013. This is his second studio album, following his self-titled début, and it has many many great songs on it. 'Tell the World I'm Here' was also a major chart success here, and was a multi-week #1, spending a lengthy amount of time charting. 'Requiem' also charted, as did a few others. I suppose the one song that I can never quite work out if I like or not on this album is 'San Francisco Says Hello'. On the one hand, it's a beautiful little song, but at other times I find it quite boring (sorry Joseph). And then of course there is the absolutely BAFFLING 'You&You' which features a lyric that is rather left unsaid. Overall a lovely album, and definitely shows progression from where he started!
November 28, 201311 yr NO NO NO. THAT IS FAAAAAR TO LOW. I might cry x (although you listed the four best songs in the highlights so yay, poor Glad I Found You though)
November 28, 201311 yr Author 16 http://ontheteenbeat.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/SelenaGomez_StarsDance_Cover21-300x300.jpg 'Stars Dance' Selena Gomez Chart Run (3-1-1-2-3-4-8-9-12-16-16) Highlights Birthday Like A Champion Come & Get It Save the Day Nobody Does It Like You It really is hard to pick a favourite out of the three Disney girls who have impressed, AND THEN SOME, this year with their musical output. We have Demi Lovato with the sensational 'Demi', Miley Cyrus with the crude and beautiful 'Bangerz' and here, Selena with 'Stars Dance' - by far one of the best pop albums of the year! So many good songs on it, especially 'Come & Get It' and 'Like A Champion' - the former which is made 10x more amazing by a) how sexy Selena looks in the video and b) the whole feel of the video; the eastern look she went for really paid off. Suits the song perfectly. Second single 'Slow Down' is another great track on the album, but then there are gems like 'Love Will Remember', 'Birthday' and 'Nobody Does It Like You' (my personal favourite on the album).
November 28, 201311 yr Nothing excites me thus far, not impressed. Someone needs to hear ROOFTOP then x Stars Dance  Fab album, took a bit of growing but I love it now.
November 28, 201311 yr Not heard any of these albums aside The Saturday's one, but even that didn't impress me a lot - I only liked the 4 singles and 'Leave a Light On'. 'Not Giving Up' was atrocious despite all the hype about it.
November 28, 201311 yr Author Not heard any of these albums aside The Saturday's one, but even that didn't impress me a lot - I only liked the 4 singles and 'Leave a Light On'. 'Not Giving Up' was atrocious despite all the hype about it. You should listen to 'Rooftop' if you get a chance (probably not your thing though :P), stunning album! Agreed about 'Living For the Weekend'. It's quite underwhelming, but 'What About Us', 'Disco Love', 'Leave A Light On' and 'You Don't Have the Right' MAKE the album fabulous  Also agreed about 'Not Giving Up' - so overrated and so very terrible.
November 28, 201311 yr Author 15 http://weallhitplay.com/http://http://localhost/we-all-play//2013/06/Rudimental-Home-2013-1200x1200-300x300.png 'Home' Rudimental Chart Run (4-7-10-11-12-11-18-20) Highlights Feel the Love (feat. John Newman) Right Here (feat. Foxes) Powerless (feat. Becky Hill) More Than Anything (feat. Emeli Sandé) Free (feat. Emeli Sandé) Of course I was going to love this album - it has not one but TWO Emeli Sandé collaborations on it. They're both fantastic. The second of the two, 'Free', is currently floating around the lower half of the top 40 like a spare part (in the official charts, that is), which is quite a shame. An absolutely beautiful song, and the video that goes along with it is so emotional - the journey you go on with the men in the video is very nice to watch, and when the song reaches its massive moment, we are treated to something special that goes very well with the music. 'More Than Anything' is something quite different for Emeli, and she sings it extremely well! The lyrics are very meaningful too, and it's just a fab song all round! 'Feel the Love' featuring now-shit music star John Newman is such a JAM too. Unlike another of their singles, 'Waiting All Night', this hasn't become absolutely terrible with radio overplay.
November 29, 201311 yr Poor ' Living For The Weekend ' it really deserved to be top 10, not as good as ' On Your Radar ' but it's easily one of the best pop albums of the year!
November 29, 201311 yr Author 14 http://a1.img.mobypicture.com/1d6bb60465f02082019de456389c3f85_view.jpg 'ARTPOP' Lady Gaga Chart Run (3-3-6) Highlights Venus G.U.Y Sexxx Dreams Do What U Want (feat. R Kelly) Gypsy In at #14 is one of the most recent releases to make it into the countdown - and it's none other than Lady Gaga. I had very little expectations for this album considering how terrible the lead single 'Applause' was, but since then she has proven that the album is worth the listen (or listens) and the RRP. Songs like 'G.U.Y' and 'Venus' make the album as fantastic as it is - and the one lyric from the album that will probably stick with me for a LONG time is "When you touch me I die just a little inside", which she delivers beautifully. The one song I just CANNOT get my head around on this album is the title track - 'ARTPOP'. Not interesting at all, although the beat is rather "nice". 'Do What U Want' is the obvious highlight on this album though, such a tune and such a meaningful song in general!
November 29, 201311 yr  LOVE it. You summed up the highlights perfectly but the notable omission is APPLAUSE. WHY EVEN. (also kinda love Jewels N Drugs too oops)
