Dreamgirls? Gold Digger??

I hadn't heard of him / wasn't aware he existed until that song. :P Although now you mention 'Gold Digger', it rings a bell.

Kicking off the top 40 in true style we have the second single from Demi Lovato's perfect album 'Demi', 'Made in the USA'. It didn't take off at all in the way it really should have officially, but it's such a fantastic song! So underrated as well. Really stands out on an album full of fabulous songs. Godbrielle Aplin makes yet another appearance, this time with the fourth single from her début album 'English Rain', 'Home'. This is definitely one of her best for me. The drama towards the end of the song (about the last minute or so) is so undeniably beautiful and emotional, while the video itself really emotes a daring and truthful message. Up next, by far and away the best song from One Direction's third album 'Midnight Memories', 'Diana', and probably one of the best things to come out of their career (although they have SO many amazing songs!). I love this for a) the insanely catchy chorus, b) the single vibe it has and c) Zayn. 'My Man Music' by Stooshe is up next. Definitely their second best just behind 'Round 2'. I was hooked on this for AGES. Such a jam, and the Jamaican vibes are so so good! You just want to get up and dance when you hear this. And finally here is an unreleased song from Queen Emeli Sandé, one that she performed on tour this year, 'This Much Is True'. A lovely song dedicated to her husband Adam.

lol at the brightness on that MITUSA cover x

Diana above Story of My Life? :( It's not THAT good (and too high up!!!!!!11!1!1! well you told me off for including Midnight Memories in mine u hypocrite x)

'Story Of My Life' and 'What About Us' FAR too low!

'What Now' is fast heading into my top 10 Rihanna songs, so so good. <3

The GIFs remain spectacular! (Mr Daley in particular *.*)

Agree so much about Made In The USA being underrated, perfect summer pop song!

35. Emeli Sandé - Who Needs the World - 15-16-16-22-21-29-34-44-16-14-18-24-26-33-38-43-47 [17 weeks]
34. One Direction - One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks) - 1-3-5-9-12-19-23-30-37-39-49 [11 weeks]
33. Becky G - Magik 2.0 (feat. Austin Mahone) - 8-5-6-9-14-19-29-37-47 [9 weeks]
32. The Saturdays - Leave A Light On - 30-5-6-8-17-28-35-41-42-46 [10 weeks]
31. Ulrik Munther - Tell the World I'm Here - 6-1-2-1-2-2-3-5-9-14-24-27-38-44-50 [15 weeks]

So kicking off this section is yet another song from Queen Emeli Sandé - this time it's the song that's rumoured to be leading the as-of-yet non-existent new EP, 'Who Needs the World' (of the same title). It's a beautiful song about being in a relationship and not needing the world when you have that one person you love. All of the live performances so far have been stunning, so hopefully she tours with it again in the future! Also here is 'One Way Or Another (Teenage Kicks)', this year's Comic Relief song by One Direction, such a great cover and dare I say, better than the original. Zayn is amazing in the song. Zayn is amazing in the video. Zayn is amazing. Full stop. Becky G and Austin Mahone teamed up to sing 'Magik 2.0' for the Smurfs 2 soundtrack, and it is SUCH a guilty pleasure! Amazing song, and Austin's chorus is divine! The Saturdays' best song in an age 'Leave A Light On' enters quite high up here too! Such a beautiful ballad and Una sounds remarkable on it! And finally, closing this section is Swedish hotty Ulrik Munther with the lead single from 'Rooftop', 'Tell the World I'm Here'. Such a stunning song, so powerful! And erm... the near-shirtless hotness in the video, YES PLEASE.

That Zayn creature is so hideous, I wanna spoon my eyes out whenever I see him.

30. The Wanted - Walks Like Rihanna - 9-7-12-18-26-33-47-49 [8 weeks]
29. Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball - 14-19-2-11-16-21-31-34-41-50 [10 weeks]

We're into the top 30 now, and there's only a few songs to go. Edging ever closer to finding out what the best song of 2013 is. Any early predictions? At #30 are The Wanted with 'Walks Like Rihanna', such a good pop song! I really don't know what happened to Jay's hair in this video but it looks ATROCIOUS. The video isn't that great, and even if the song is a bit generic and cheap, it really is fabulous! The lyrics are cheap, but they pull it off because... they ARE cheap, hehe. They'll be split up soon enough, so it's nice that they're (hopefully) going out on a high. And just ahead of them is Miley Cyrus with the second single from her new album 'Bangerz', 'Wrecking Ball'. Another song that caused mass controversy, but in essence it's definitely one of her best songs, and the video is so beautiful (when you ignore the fact she's doing all the shit she's doing and actually pay attention to the message she is trying to convey!).

That Ulrik song is beautiful, my fave from what I've heard from him. #31 for you!? You must be the biggest Ulrik loon I know B-)

The Wanted have let me down majorly this era :/ oh and an Austin song I still haven't heard?? Onto the list it goes :)

28. Carrie Underwood - See You Again - 26-31-37-43-35-48-50-35-45-45-45-46 [12 weeks]
27. Rudimental - More Than Anything (feat. Emeli Sandé) - 5-6-13-21-29-36-50 [7 weeks]

Next up is Carrie Underwood with the sensational 'See You Again'. By far my favourite on 'Blown Away' although there are two other stand-outs and they are the title track and 'Two Black Cadillacs', both of which have fantastic videos! I think the message in 'See You Again' really hits me though. I can connect with it a lot, and argh, it's just fantastic! Really underrated too. Was probably overshadowed a lot by the two former singles. And another Emeli entry comes in at #27, this time one of her two collaborations with Rudimental, 'More Than Anything'. This is probably the weaker of the two, but it's still quite fantastic! A different type of song to what Emeli would normally sing, but her vocals are so fantastic, and very different to on 'Free' (the other collaboration).

Carrie <3 gorgeous song but probably my least favourite single from the era. That says more about the quality of the other songs than the quality of this one though.

That Ulrik song is beautiful, my fave from what I've heard from him. #31 for you!? You must be the biggest Ulrik loon I know B-)

Sorry, do I know you? x

(I need to get you listening to Rooftop at some point x)
