January 7, 201411 yr Chloe Howl is so unnecessary at the moment now though, what with Lily Allen's return. Although she's perfect to fill in the void that La Roux left out.
January 8, 201411 yr My ideal top 3 at this stage would be Banks, MNEK and Sam Smith. Obviously Sam is a given but I would love at least one of the others to join him. I would be happy with Ella top 3 as well, as she has a brilliant voice, just none of her solo material at the moment is leaving me blown away. Oops, scrap that, Kelela is still in! She would be my first choice but I obviously forgot about her due to the fact there is no way she will be top 3 :( Edited January 8, 201411 yr by Davidson
January 8, 201411 yr BANKS is 3rd. At least one of the Critics' Choice shortlist is snubbed then, would still be surprised if it's not a Sam Smith/Ella Eyre top 2 though.
January 8, 201411 yr I like Banks, hope shes big this yr! Hope theres a shock in the top 2. A real indie/rock artist would be good they dont support enough of them now!
January 8, 201411 yr Chloe Howl doesn't scream top 2 for me, I'm going with MNEK or Sam Smith with Ella Eyre.
January 8, 201411 yr Am I the only one who keeps pronouncing MNEK as "M Neck"? The correct pronunciation is "M.N.E.K." right?
January 8, 201411 yr Am I the only one who keeps pronouncing MNEK as "M Neck"? The correct pronunciation is "M.N.E.K." right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmanuel_Emenike - not actually sure if it's anything to do with him but his surname is how you pronounce it no idea why Royal Blood are in this, looks like a token rock band thrown in so they count all the genres. NME/Kerrang will love them, they will do nothing in the chart because it's not chart music. I might keep an eye out for their album though, quite like the song they have on the website Edited January 8, 201411 yr by Gerry1975
January 8, 201411 yr http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmanuel_Emenike - not actually sure if it's anything to do with him but his surname is how you pronounce it Oh that makes sense! I just checked MNEK's Wikipedia entry which confirms that his surname is acually Emenike which explains his stage name :)
January 8, 201411 yr G'won Banks  Quite surprised but I'm thrilled she made it. The top 2 will surely be out of Sam Smith and either Ella Eyre or Chloe Howl, I'd say Ella is more likely and I'd say her and Sam will probably have the most success (or among the most success) of the bunch too.
January 9, 201411 yr The winner has been leaked by Popjustice, for those that want to know a day early. Won't post it here, just in case people want to know via BBC. Well deserved winner though!
January 9, 201411 yr What Popjustice wrote was a joke as he's the obvious winner now that Ella is second.
January 10, 201411 yr So basically whoever features on a drum & bass song is guaranteed to be big in a year's time!
January 10, 201411 yr So basically whoever features on a drum & bass song is guaranteed to be big in a year's time! Becky Hill on 'Afterglow' please
January 10, 201411 yr Well done Sam Smith. It was expected, but I do love his new single and hope it's a hit.
January 10, 201411 yr Shocker. Sam Smith is a great revelation that would never have been discovered without Sound of... - not like he's featured on a song that's nearly sold a million.
January 10, 201411 yr Meh, #2s are generally better anyway. Bloc Party, Marina, James Blake, Frank Ocean, AlunaGeorge <3
