'Come Walk With Me' is an absolute belter. Got me fully on board with her again and thankfully the album was all as fab too.

And 'Imagine It Was A Hit Us' :(((

'Strong' and 'Move' are far too low.

I've only heard like a quarter of the songs so far oops ~

not heard the M.I.A. album yet (cos i'm a flop like that). Bring The Noize and Y.A.L.A. were both decent so that does give me a bit of hope!

it was never gonna happen was it :( still, a great stand-alone single!

'Strong' and 'Move' are far too low.

be grateful biatch x (altho Little Mix being on this countdown at all is kind of unexpected tbf)

75-71 features; an rave-tastic N DNTN entry from this summer, an electro-tinted comeback single from former Year-End #1 artists Bombay Bicycle Club, as well as my debut BJSC entry: the fierce electro/industrial track 'Haunted Gold'. Surprise indie-pop smash 'Chocolate' lands at #71 ahead of the first of two Autre Ne Veut tracks on this countdown

the still underrated Fenech-Soler features in the top 70 with their blasting synth-pop single 'Magnetic', followed by two also underrated BJSC tracks from 1987 and Joe Goddard (whose 2011 track 'Gabriel' featured among my favourites of that year). Two #1 hits from my weekly chart drop out #67 (You & Me) and #66 (Adorn)

Enjoying this countdown thus far 7z.

Highlights for me include: 1975, Arctic Monkeys, Breach, Disclosure, FKA twigs, French-Soler, Holy Ghost!, Just Blaze & Baauer, Korallreven, London Grammar, and Washed Out. :D

Good to see The 1975, Disclosure, Autre Ne Veut, Bombay Bicycle Club, John Hopkins.... but London Grammar - Strong should be much higher... "goes and takes off Ghost Loft out of my YTD chart" ... just kidding :P

Look Up

Justin's first UK #1 in 7 years came with his R&B/pop gem 'Mirrors' (before the whole album campaign went pretty much downhill afterwards). Katy B visits synth-ballad territory with GREAT results; the tear-jerking 'Crying for No Reason'. Ghost Beach's 'Close Enough' gradually became more infectious throughout the year, and that's followed by a double header of BJSC winners- Carli's killer dance track 'Look Up' and of course the mega-smash that was 'Take Me Home' by Belanger (altho it appears the older version has been taken off soundcloud, shame that :'()

None of these songs mean anything to me except Mirrors which is of course divine.

Cry No More

Everything Everything make an appearance with 'Duet', which came as a fresh break from the comparative madness of singles 'Cough Cough' and 'Kemosabe'. We also have two slices of synth-pop awesome-ness; 'Northern Lights' and 'The Apple', the latter was certainly an....interesting transformation for VV (since the days of 'Shark in the Water' at least!). Fresh off a great vocal performance on Zedd's 'Clarity', the UK were treated to her solo single 'Youth' (original version > the new radio edit, of course). VAULTS gave a first big impression with their enchanting debut 'Cry No More'

YOUTH  Fantastic song. Also yay for Little Mix, JT, Miguel and some others in this countdown x

Major love for V V. Not even my favourite off the album (listen x) but SUCH a gem.

'Play By Play' too low but wooopity for 'Adorn'. And 'Crying For No Reason' just seems to have grabbed everybody. She's on fire.

My Number

in this next batch: a v. late grower from UP, an unexpectedly great comeback single from Franz Ferdinand, an energetic indie rock track from Parquet Courts (which was entered by me into BJFest, and subsequently flopped due to everyone else's lack of taste ^.^), a bizarrely amazing fusion of glitch-pop, electronica and whatever else from American newcomer Robert DeLong, and one of the catchier numbers (pun intended x) from indie rockers Foals

Great to see under appreciated gems by Robert DeLong, Kate Boy and VV Brown making appearances here.

Loads of great stuff listed so far ~ predicting a Ghost Loft or Soap&Skin win here. :P

Some lovely BJSC stuff in here Seven. Carli and Belanger were easily my favourite winners of the year, loved the 90s throwback dance sound that's been running through 2013!
