Posted December 22, 201311 yr As we come to the end of the year, I thought we could start predicting who will be nominated and who will win awards at the 2014 Brit awards. Sam Smith has already won the 2014 Brits Critics' Choice award, so we will not have to predict that one. These are the categories, for each award predict which 5 acts will be nominated and who you think will win. For the outstanding contribution to music award just state who you think will win it and for the best single award predict the 15 acts/singles you think will be nominated and the winner. December 22, 201311 yr What's Ellie Goulding done to deserve a nomination / win? Released three singles + one she's featured on, plus the re-release of Halcyon Days. She's more popular than ever now. Plus she's pretty much one of their own after getting Critics' Choice a few years back. I think most people would be more shocked if she wasn't nominated.
December 22, 201311 yr What's Ellie Goulding done to deserve a nomination / win? Had a Number 1 single which is 16 in the YTD, higher than any other British Female, featured on the Number 30 in the YTD and her album is currently 14 in the YTD, again higher than any other British Female, apart from Emeli. She's also had two other relatively successful singles as well. Edited December 22, 201311 yr by Reindeer Heart

December 22, 201311 yr If Arctic Monkeys don't won British Band and Katy Perry doesn't win International Female I'll be shocked.
December 22, 201311 yr Right, let's try this. British Male Robbie Williams Gary Barlow Tom Odell David Bowie Olly Murs British Female - is this usually this bereft? December 22, 201311 yr British Single Can't remember the way they decide this one but isn't it something weird like radio play? Biggest selling British singles of the year.
December 22, 201311 yr I was just thinking today about whether Daft Punk or Arcade Fire would be the most likely to win Best Int Band.
December 22, 201311 yr If Katy Perry doesn't win International Female I'll be shocked. Surely Beyoncé is in with a good shot now?
December 22, 201311 yr Don't you have to have a new studio album released in the time frame or have the goalposts been moved again?

December 22, 201311 yr Don't you have to have a new studio album released in the time frame or have the goalposts been moved again? What is the time frame though?
December 22, 201311 yr I'm so bad doing this. Olly really have to win at least one, I can't believe he still doesn't have it :nono:
December 22, 201311 yr International Female Beyoncé Janelle Monáe Lady Gaga Lorde Miley Cyrus Really :o?? Just asking because Katy is a surefire winner let alone nomination i would have thought. She's performing too which usually secures the win (as is Gaga but not sure she'd get it over Katy).
