Posted December 23, 201312 yr Single & Album Summary It's gift card week! Who'll benefit the most and will it be enough to overtake Sam Bailey? Pharrell Williams, Avicii and Jason Derulo are currently the main challengers, whilst the Top 40 should see multiple new entries from Beyoncé and Justin Bieber. In the albums, it will be another battle between 1D and Robbie Williams, with many high climbers from the likes of Avicii, Tom Odell and Arctic Monkeys etc. due to price reductions. Justin Bieber's latest output Journals should also make an appearance. Just a reminder that with Christmas just around the corner, don't expect any mids for the weeks beginning 23rd and 30th December - normal services should resume after 6th January 2014. Please refer to the iTunes thread topic for those particular weeks. ======================================================= Please note new changes to the Sunday Chart Predictions thread topic: You can still post your own predictions for the week to generate chat to the topic. There will be no mids from MW for Tuesday, if there is any chart info, please provide a source, so the info can be checked out first, we just have to be careful what to post on here on a Tuesday. Use Twitter and search for midweeks to find any mid info. On Thursdays there will be no mids from MW but any chart info that is found please provide a source. On Friday an update from MW from 11am onwards- MAYBE!. To keep everyone in the loop of all chart action please refer to the iTunes thread topic.
December 24, 201312 yr Chart info will be very scarce this week we are not guaranteed any chart info, you can still talk about the charts in here though if you wish to. On behalf of all of the chart mods we wish you all a Merry Christmas :hic:
December 24, 201312 yr Although I don't like the Pharrell song personally, I think it could end up being no1. Would be good to see it dethrone the poo factor winners song after just a week...
December 24, 201312 yr With the lack of anything more interesting to report at present here's SOMETHING?..... "One Direction score the fastest selling music DVD/Blu-ray in British history as This Is Us debuts at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart. One Direction’s This Is Us has gone straight in at Number 1 on the Official Video Chart, and in doing so has set a new record for the fastest selling music DVD/Blu-ray title in British history. Despite only being released last Thursday (December 19), nearly 270,000 copies of This Is Us were purchased in the UK during its first three days on sale, beating the record set by Michael Jackson’s This Is It in 2010 by 10,000 copies. Produced by Morgan Spurlock (Super Size Me), This Is Us weaves together live concert footage with a fly-on-the-wall documentary and tells the story of Niall, Zayn, Liam, Harry and Louis' meteoric rise to fame. It was released in cinemas over the summer, and topped both the UK and US‘s box offices. It has grossed an estimated $60m-plus worldwide. This Is Us is also the first music video title to top the Official Video Chart since Michael Jackson’s This Is It in February 2010. In related news, One Direction’s latest album, Midnight Memories overtook Michael Buble’s To Be Loved to become the biggest selling album released this year 2013." SOURCE: OCC
December 24, 201312 yr https://twitter.com/drewbiebersperf Justin Bieber at No 4 in the albums apparently- take it with a pinch of salt though
December 24, 201312 yr I think Sam Bailey might be #1 again tbh. ISTM Pharrell's iTunes lead is so large that it'll outweigh Sam's physical sales.
December 24, 201312 yr Didn't know This Is It was such a huge success! :o Happy is probably selling at 65k rate this week before gift cards are taken into consideration. It'll be close race. Two weeks at #1 would be great achievement for Bailey given her low opening.
December 24, 201312 yr Happy is probably selling at 65k rate this week before gift cards are taken into consideration. Probably more than that, he sold 65k last week and has still been increasing further this week. Hoping he might challenge for 100k this week.
December 24, 201312 yr Thanks. Somehow remembered him selling only 60k last week. I don't think he'll do 100k though.
December 24, 201312 yr https://twitter.com/drewbiebersperf Justin Bieber at No 4 in the albums apparently- take it with a pinch of salt though Justin Bieber is bad enough on his own without adding salt into the equation.
