It is rumoured that Lady Gaga will be going under a name-change, throwing out the old “Lady Gaga” and becoming Stefani. This rumour has been floating around since December 2013, but now the facts are adding up. The official website of Lady Gaga, LadyGaga.com , is now displaying an ad for NameJet, a website that sells domain names. The domain name is now up for auction, $69 being the minimum bid. Some say that they are just getting rid of it, rendering it as useless, and LittleMonsters.com will replace it. Others say that ATRL bought the URL. Some say it was just hacked. It is expected that she will undergo the name change after the artRave. Rumours say that she will be synonymous, going under her real name Stefani. It is even said that she will change her music genre, from the previous electronic pop to an acoustic sound.

 

I wouldn't mind Stefani replacing Gaga tbh. She needs to do something drastic to get commercial success again, and maybe ditching the Gaga brand is the way forward? I don't know.

 

I'd love for her to do an acoustic album though, she always sounds incredible in acoustic performances.

I think it could be a good idea as the actual name of 'Lady Gaga' feels dated as if it belongs in 2010 or something even if her music doesn't. The only problem is that Stefani is too closely associated with Gwen.

I'm really starting to go off her more and more because of things like this!

there won't be much point to Gaga changing her name as she'll always be known as Gaga by the general public? :unsure: it'll come across as pretentious.

 

what she does need to do is, firstly, not make a mess of the single choices. If 'Do What U Want' was single #1 and had a music video it would've done so much better. Then she needs some singles that appeal to the GP as well otherwise she'll just become a fanbase act like Madonna/Minogue. She needs to know that it's not 2009 anymore. An urban or house single would do well as a first single rather than electro-pop, and if she releases a good ballad/midtempo as her 2nd single leading into the album then she could shift many albums.
