I'm far from a fan of hers, but I doubt that bothers her as this album seems to be her most successful yet.

Her lack of hits in the US hits has deffo been a source of annoyance to her. She has thrown out so many videos and singles and not managed to get anything to really strike a chord and blow up recently. Obviously selling albums is the goal but even on that front she was struggling by her standard in the US. You don't go for such a radical release plan as she has unless something wasn't working. I don't expect Rihanna to follow suit or Taylor Swift this year as they have been doing fine the way they have been releasing.

Massive increase for Pharrell ! From 68% to 86%

I know didn't think it would have such a quick effect!

If if keeps rising the race for no1 could still be on, although timbers pre orders should be decent maybe 30k

Wow at how much TOTP seems to have boosted Pharrell, considering he didn't even perform, they just played the music video... :o Pitbull still has #1 in the bag for this week but Pharrell looks in a strong position to climb back to #1 next week. Hopefully he's still selling decently.

'Alive' to #31, coming for a top 40 re-entry hopefully :D Fab performance of that on TOTP.

Also climbing notably: 'Blurred Lines' #25, 'Love Me Again' #30.

~

And on a completely unrelated note:

96. Auld Lang Syne - Red Hot Chilli Pipers

I miss the Gay Gordon version of 'Auld Lang Syne' that always used to chart highest, it's sadly been deleted :(

EDIT: Auld Lang Syne update:

90. Auld Lang Syne - Red Hot Chilli Pipers

111. A New Year's Party - Auld Lang Syne

158. Auld Lang Syne - Tony Evans

181. Auld Lang Syne - The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards

198. Auld Lang Syne - Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers (*.*)

341. Auld Lang Syne - Andy Stewart

350. New Year Maniacs - Auld Lang Syne

456. Auld Lang Syne - The Party Poppers

478. Auld Lang Syne - Mega DJZ

490. Auld Lang Syne - The New London Chorale

491. Auld Lang Syne - Rod Stewart

569. Auld Lang Syne - The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards

757. Auld Lang Syne - The Baubles

1213. Auld Lang Syne - Jimmy Shand & His Band

1349. Auld Lang Syne - Andy Stewart

1410. Auld Lang Syne - New Year's Eve Music

(111 and 350 have 'Auld Lang Syne' as the artist, yes)

What happened to Gay Gordon's version? Is it still charting but under someone else's name?
It's possible that one of the other versions is the same, but the actual Gay Gordon version has been gone for a while (wasn't there for NYE 2012/13 either IIRC).
Didn't realise the TOTP impact would be so great, even for songs with only short video clips played! Definitely highlighting the need for a weekly prime time music programme again (that isn't a talent show).

Why was the GG version deleted?

Looks like Love me Again will get a third straight week in the top 40 it's been a big Xmas for him - he's silly though he should have performed Losing Sleep to make it a hit!!

The lift for Happy shows how popular the song is and has the potential to be!! Would love him to take Pitbulls monstrosity lol esp if he gets back to no1 next week it'll just be like before Xmas with Storm Queen & Martin garrix!

Suppose its on at the perfect time for the audience they're looking for!

Happy up to 90% now!

Music on nye which might affect the chart -

Alan Carr -

Tinie Tempah - Lover not a fighter ft Labrinth

Katy B - Crying for no Reason (this needs an earlier release, could be massive for her)

Jools -

Rudimental, Haim, Laura Mvula plus others

Graham Norton has no advertised music!

Plus the Gary Barlow show could be massive for his album it could finally hit no1 what with the Elton John single out in mid Jan!

Wake me Up no8 combined now haha nye having an effect as well as totps!

That's kinda not the point of TOTP. He performed one of the biggest hits of the year in Love Me Again, like how Ellie Goulding performed Burn, etc.

Love Rudimental, hoping some tracks from them in the top 40 by the weekend, love to see them live, they sound really good playing live.
'Ho Hey' performed on Jools Holland  Are they ever going to let go of this song?

That's Red Hot Chilli Pipers at #76 :P The only day of the year they can ever be found in the iTunes top 100 :D

26. John Newman 'Love Me Again'

That's got another boost just performed it on Jools Holland

Jools is pretty good sitting watching it now, it always helps boost bands in he new year!

Some corrections to the above Katy B performed 5am & Tinie also performed Pass Out. Michael Buble performed on Graham Norton!
