Whats so funny at the Kooks lol, heard Zane Lowes first play this evening and it's actually quite different and very good, pity they don't just release OA/OS as I'm not sure they will be cool enough for radio 1 to playlist in 2014 although I thought the same with Klaxons and their epic new track until I heard it. Hopefully it'll be record of the day soon so they can test the waters with their audience!

The standard version of 'If You Wait' is being advertised on the front page of iTunes at the moment, hence the rise into the top 10 and ahead of the deluxe version!

 

Great to see CHVRCHES' album back in the top 40, probably helped by their appearance on R1's Live Lounge. They did a brilliant cover of 'Team'.

Wow at London Grammar, another week inside the top 10, the album has really done well, I never expected the album to do that well.

The Skrillex preorder has a release date on Monday which is good!!

It's a new entry since the start of 2014 when I restarted these updates. It probably did something on iTunes on its original release, you're right. Only got to #69 officially, wouldn't be surprised to see it repeaking thanks to the bizarre success of the new single (seriously don't get it unless there's something I'm missing about it, usually only the biggest US country hits cross over here but this one hasn't even made the Hot 100 yet :huh:)

Seems like The Pretty Reckless released their album today instead of tomorrow - currently #5 and #128. I think this will make the Top 10 even if it is a busy week for the albums.

Nice to see Kylie go straight to #1! However I'm quite confident she'll be settling for runner up in the official charts - George Michael's pre-orders have been too good for her to beat and I can imagine his album will be advertise in the run up to Mother's Day.

Surprised at Kylie going in ahead of George, her inital pre-orders weren't THAT strong so I thought George's recent dominance over her pre-order would be more than enough to ensure he debuted ahead. Wouldn't be surprised to see George climbing ahead tomorrow though.

 

Lea Michele going in at #3 is very strange considering she hasn't even been top 100 on pre-orders and I've only seen her in the top 200 the past few days - I guess the top 2 must just be miles ahead of everything else.

 

'SEX AND LOVE' being that low must surely be an error, it did miles better on pre-orders than Lea :huh: Incidentally I'm starting to get annoyed by this all caps album title trend, half the time it doesn't even make any sense to capitalise the title.

I'm also surprised to see her at #1 - I assumed her sales would be overwhelming phyiscal, so she'd only make a modest impression on the d/l chart. :unsure:

 

As for overall position, imo Kylie has it in the bag - GM has no single promoting his album, and Mothers Day or not, Kylie's album is likely to get as much promo as George's. Plus there's likely to be significant overlap of their fanbases, anyway. ;)
