December 29, 201311 yr I really don't have the energy to argue with people (loose term, I know) who have so little consideration for other people just because of the misfortune of where they were born.

My suggestion (professionals and entrepreneurs) is far more than the government are saying (no one at all) so my stance is far more considerate than that of the government
December 29, 201311 yr Author My suggestion (professionals and entrepreneurs) is far more than the government are saying (no one at all) so my stance is far more considerate than that of the government So it's okay to be inconsiderate as long as there's someone in the world that's more inconsiderate than you? That's a fantastic attitude to have.
December 29, 201311 yr I do hate how every thread in this forum has to turn into Sandro's view of the world these days. Mostly caused by himself.
December 29, 201311 yr My suggestion (professionals and entrepreneurs) is far more than the government are saying (no one at all) so my stance is far more considerate than that of the government And given my disdain for the government's position that makes precisely zero difference. In a strange way, your view is more disturbing. Given the humanitarian argument for taking in refugees, being selective on the grounds of something as arbitrary as occupation (what the hell is an entrepreneur anyway? Most successful businesspeople lose vast amounts of money at some point and half of what they do hinges on luck and speculation) is in its way more heartless than being purely isolationist. But I wouldn't expect you to understand that.

December 29, 201311 yr Author How many is your country taking? have you lobbied your representative to pressurise the Irish PM to accept loads? if not why not The UK is my country. I'm from Belfast.

My wish not to accept the Syrian refugees is purely financial, even though i want Assad to win the conflict it has been a dreadful conflict but Syrians are muslims and it should be for muslims to look after their brothers, Saudi Arabia, the UAE nations etc have untold riches wealth wise, they should take the majority of the refugees
December 29, 201311 yr Author My wish not to accept the Syrian refugees is purely financial, even though i want Assad to win the conflict it has been a dreadful conflict but Syrians are muslims and it should be for muslims to look after their brothers, Saudi Arabia, the UAE nations etc have untold riches wealth wise, they should take the majority of the refugees Because as we all know, there are no Muslims in the UK, and absolutely no Christians have been displaced as a result of the conflict.
December 29, 201311 yr Because as we all know, there are no Muslims in the UK. It is not about the fact that they are muslims, I am not anti muslim, only anti muslim extremist As Saudi Arabia is their spiritual homeland in terms of Islam, and the UAE have incredible oil wealth, those nations should be taking the refugees
December 29, 201311 yr So if there were a war in Ireland would you tell the whole population to move to Italy?
December 29, 201311 yr So if there were a war in Ireland would you tell the whole population to move to Italy? They are technically part of the UK Get a vote on our X Factor for example and if i remember rightly were part of Team GB So i would have no problem with that as the Irish are honorary Brits, they welcome here Edited December 29, 201311 yr by Sandro Raniere
December 29, 201311 yr Ireland technically part of the UK? Are we back in 1900? There's a huge difference between Northern Ireland and the Republic Of (and they did have a different Olympic team). Regardless, any country should really be open to accepting refugees from anywhere else, they've suffered enough trauma without having to be forced to a certain country where they may not be well-treated.

The full name of the country is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. 26 counties of Ireland are 'technically' not part of the UK. 2. Ireland did have its own team in the Olympics and Paralympic Games. One of my former classmates represented Ireland in the Paralympics (winning gold and smashing the world record in his category).

Yeah but they are joined at the hip to us, someone in Belfast wanting to go down to Dublin for the day doesn't need a passport, there are no border controls as far as i know, the Irish are our 'brothers', honorary Brits as far as i am concerned In terms of refugees from Syria, why should they come here? how many countries are there before you reach England? dozens and a stretch of water, plenty of places for them to settle before reaching UK
