Suppose this has been building up for a while now but it still came as a shock to read the spoiler article about it on DigitalSpy.

Sounds like it will be quite hard to watch as spoilers seem to be indicating pretty gritty scenes.

All the soaps seem to be heading out of the summer ratings slump now as Eastenders and Coronation Street both got their highest ratings since July 14.

Eastenders was watched by 6.59m.

Loving that they were playing Robyn and Röyksopp's 'Do It Again' at Stacey's coming home party!

Also, big yes at Ryan's return – let's hope he comes back full time, not just for five seconds.

Very much agreed! :D

I'm not sure about whether Ryan will be returning permanently, as that would mean he'd have to go through the same thing that Stacey has been since she returned and I can't see that being repeated. Was quite ironic of Stacey to complain about Whitney meeting up with someone that's on the run though! :P

I thought we might get Kim, Chelsea or Libby re-appear this week. When Shabnam got Dean after realising he's her family kinda, I thought it would be the return of one of her actual family.

There's an article on DigitalSpy which reveals a little more info about the Slater house fire and Sharon and Phil's plotting: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2/easte...~oOWa5mk2XIRA72

Both stories are happening this month, and at 3pm today there will be a trailer advertising them revealed. Very exciting stuff!

I reckon there could be a return for Peggy for Phil and Sharon's wedding, and I'm holding out for Ian to return with Michelle in time for it too! #wishfulthinking

Praying Kat and the kids don't die! :(

Kat survives but receives bad burn marks and so there will be a big emotional story following that. I wouldn't thought they'd kill the babies off, especially not in a fire! :(

The lengths Alfie goes to to make sure he doesn't need to bother his arse searching for a job. Seriously though, he just seems to either sit in his house or go to the pub with Terry and spend their little money on drinks. He has really pissed me off recently and now this fire has made me hate him more than Bianca

It seems no matter how skint the people of Walford are, they'll always have enough for drinks in The Vic!

I'm not really sure how this insurance scam would really work even if no-one was injured - surely the money they're given would only be enough for them to put the house back to normal? Or would all the debts be cancelled?

6.08m in last night's ratings - its highest Friday ratings since May! Goodbye summer ratings slump!
