January 15, 201411 yr Think of all of the good things that could've happened and the life you've wasted in those 10,000*4 minutes!!! :( I have a busy lifestyle so usually have my iPhone on me. That's my excuse. 'What About Us' has 3,000 listens at the moment :(.

January 15, 201411 yr In an ideal world all songs would get several full listens but in the real world it's not easy to devote time to a structurally flawed song that rambles for 2 mins without doing at least one thing of interest. If the first half is just on a dull loop it needs 're editing to stand out. Dance music usually and though it might be great in a club as a record it needs to stand out. My way of saying I give tracks 2 mins to do something interesting I don't care what as long as its not being lazy and then decide to carry on or move on :o

January 15, 201411 yr I am quite confused as to why the mods were okay with 'Red Lights' which was a MUCH more obvious future hit than 'Flute'. Not necessarily saying I'd have vetoed either of them but I'd certainly have thought 'Red Lights' the more veto-worthy of the two. Ah well too late now ~ (it's a good song anyway so it can live). I have officially voted. I always vote based on first impressions anyway so my earlier votes than usual are just because I decided to listen earlier than usual. I continue to be easily pleased and enjoyed the majority of the songs to some extent but this is one of the weaker semis of recent times which isn't overly encouraging considering January is supposed to be like the best contest due to the longer time to search for entries. (I thought 55-57 were the best contests last year tho so maybe that's not so true anyway). Can we get some Palmyra hype going plz, they need to qualify MORE THAN EVER this time :(

January 15, 201411 yr Just listened through, a lot of my life was lost in my semi Only 10 songs made it through my incredibly lenient cull. Clear winners though and as usual Ojnoj is the saviour of my ears.
January 15, 201411 yr 'Avant-Guarded' by Curxes is a lesser version of 'Crown On The Ground' by Sleigh Bells. 'Helium' by Chris Lake & Jareth is a better version of 'Applause' by Lady Gaga. Don't know what to make of them two but they're catchy as hell.
