03 Give Me All Your Luvin' (feat. Nicki Minaj & M.I.A.)

My order of preference of the Nicki collabs!

Speaking of 'Bitch I'm Madonna', it's been played, according to Compare My Radio, once by Radio 1 and once by Radio 1Xtra!

JESUS WEPT at her picking most of the worst demos and leaving FUTURE CLASSIC Addicted (The One That Got Away) on the cutting room floor.

Also all 3 Nicki collabs are dire.

It hurts me that this album is clearly going to be so awful

Not even remotely true! From True Blue onwards she had been getting critical praise, and Like a Prayer was hugely well received. To say she was not seen as credible before 98 is laughable.

"Like A Prayer" is "The" album that made the critics take her seriousuly and showed she was here to stay. Prior to that she was seen as disposable pop star with very little talent. Cyndi lauper was more respected than her from the get go.

And after the "Erotica" era and the "Sex" book backlash she was back to being an even bigger joke again until her big Comeback with "Ray Of Light"

Cyndi was more respected to begin with, but by the time of True Blue Madonna was definitely garnering critical attention, not on the level she would have with Like A Prayer and certainly not Ray of Light, but she absolutely was seen as ''credible'' prior to 1998.

I also think it's a tad ridiculous to suggest she was a ''joke'' after sex given Take A Bow gave her her biggest US #1 up to that point and Something To Remember and Evita was widely praised as a huge return to form. Indeed I don't really think she has been a ''joke'' since Like A Virgin, if she ever was at all.

'Rebel Heart' as album closer! Too early to say it could be one of her best closers considering we've only heard it in demo form?

Interesting that she's gone for some lesser known rapper features. I quite like Nas and Chance the Rapper isn't too bad.

:drama:

I disagree Madonna was seen as a one hit wonder until the true blue album !!! Way before like a prayer!
:drama:

Well he's hardly Kanye West or Jay-Z is he? :P He's not really had big success outside of the US.

Good news - there's going to be a "super deluxe box" which features 25 tracks (!!) so maybe 'Addicted' is on that.

Also, the 19 tracklist is apparently the deluxe version and only 14 of those will be on the standard (although I'm guessing not just #1-14 of the deluxe as the title track would be missing otherwise). This is just what I've got from another Madonna forum who got this info from Universal Music France.

The versions of Rebel Heart:

  • Rebel Heart – Standard (14 tracks)
  • Rebel Heart – Deluxe (19 tracks)
  • Rebel Heart – Super Deluxe Box (25 tracks)
  • Rebel Heart – Vinyl LP (19 tracks)
  • Rebel Heart – Exclusive FNAC France Edition (20 tracks)
^ Exactly  Because Like A Virgin (the era) doesn't exist of course and the title track, Into The Groove and Material Girl aren't still among her most iconic songs.
•Rebel Heart – Super Deluxe Box (25 tracks) - 25 tracks is incredible. I wonder whether it will be available from usual methods like Amazon or through special order via music store. It might be worth buying for the extra tracks.
I don't think that even at my peak loon stage I would choose to sit through a 25 track Madonna album, even at only ~4 minutes each that's 100 minutes of music.

Yeah, would probably be far too much to hear in one go! At least it means we get more tracks in official form rather than having to search for low-quality demos of tracks left off.

2 more tracks will be available to hear and own on February 9th, according to a new press release.

WHAT?!

I didn't write my point clearly ....

Critics believed Madonna would not be able to recreate the success of her like a Virgin album. They believed Cyndi Lauper was going to be the artist to have longevity. The true blue album silenced them , Madonna was recognised as a more serious artist with the releases of Live To Tell and Papa Don't preach. The true blue album then went on to sell more than like a virgin world wide !!

A 39 year old man was arrested yesterday for leaking Madonna's new music and Madonna issued a statement thanking Israeli Police:

"I am profoundly grateful to the FBI, the Israeli Police investigators and anyone else who helped lead to the arrest of this hacker," wrote Madonna.

"I deeply appreciate my fans who have provided us with pertinent information and continue to do so regarding leaks of my music.

"Like any citizen, I have the right to privacy. This invasion into my life - creatively, professionally, and personally - remains a deeply devastating and hurtful experience, as it must be for all artists who are victims of this type of crime."

Speaking of leaks, an updated version of 'Iconic' has leaked, however it didn't have Mike Tyson present.

Out of interest, if I order my different formats of Rebel Heart from Amazon, will they count as sales for the official UK chart?

I'm not sure what the OCC's rules are about multi-buying, I've heard that they have some but I've never seen them. If you were to buy Rebel Heart on Amazon as a CD, vinyl and download (don't know if you can do the latter on there) then I would think that would be accepted as one sale each.

If you're asking so that you can help Madonna gain a higher position, I wouldn't bother as it does seem quite definite that she'll go to #1 with this, so long as no big albums are released the same week (which so far there aren't)!

Thanks. No, I just wasn't sure whether physical sales from Amazon were included in the official chart. Yes, I'm sure she'll be going No1, just want my purchases to count.
