I still need to check out the demos but I'm glad the Avicii productions were altered; I'm not here for generic dance pap, and the album versions no doubt give the album more musical variation. Does anybody have a list of the tracks which have demos that are strikingly different to the album versions, please?
The Avicii production on 'Wash All Over Me' didn't make it sound like a generic dance track, it was quite understated and tasteful.

I thought that too, but, at the same time, I can see where people are coming from. I've grown to really like the new version of it anyway and it does do a lot more for the album than the dance version would do. I've grown to like 'Holy Water' and 'S.E.X' (the latter reminds me slightly of Kylie's 'Sexercise', although I've probably only picked up on that due to the similar theme) and now there's no real duds on the album. Could easily be my favourite Madonna album since Confessions.

I'll definitely be buying the deluxe version - especially because of its album cover, much better the super deluxe which I'm not really feeling.

My super deluxe version will be arriving tomorrow... and it had better be the UK version advertised on her website, I want Queen!

There is only one worldwide Super Deluxe Edition and Queen isn't on it.

I just listened to the demos for Rebel Heart and Wash All Over Me. The album version of the latter is far better; the lyrics and her vocals are so grey that it doesn't suit being a dance song at all. As for the former, there's not a striking difference between the demo and the album version, and both are great. I'll listen to more tomorrow.

I REALLY don't get why they are refusing to include this even as a bonus track. Is it because of the lyrics (the queen's been slain; CIA/MI6 references)?! Best song on the record by far.

So confusing :/

It would have made the perfect album closer, such an unexpectedly honest lyric about her position within the industry that it just feels so much more personal and affecting than I was expecting from anything on this album. It's really quite poignant.

27,479 copies in Thursdays Update - 2,514 since yesterday, 10,568 copies ahead of Sam Smith who has sold 4,651 copies since yesterday.

At this rate, about 35k for Madonna and 30.7k for Sam Smith this Sunday.

I think she will end on about 36.5k and he will do about 35k. Maybe that's wishful thinking, but at around 2.5k per day extra and her having a roughly 10k lead I think she can JUST hold on, even with Comic Relief.

I just heard Queen and it's astonishing; I wonder why it was removed from the tracklist. Perhaps Madonna and her team didn't think it was lyrically fitting with the themes of the record, which is still debatable (to an extent it is; to another it isn't).

It's not easy to digest an album with so many songs and if it were my album I'd rearrange some of the tracks to give the album a slightly different structure. Out of the twenty-five finalised songs (including Queen and Autotune Baby), twenty of them are great, and only two of them are really needless, those being S.E.X. and Autotune Baby which was rightfully removed from the final tracklist. If Queen replaced S.E.X., it would be an album with completely impressive songs.

My super deluxe came in the post today  the packaging for it is sublime and I am loving the photos for this era, she looks incredible.
Two different sets of sales for today's midweeks have surfaced - one showing Madonna on 28,035 (556 since yesterday) and the other on 29,750 (2,271 since yesterday). The second one makes a lot more sense so I'd stick with that. Hopefully we'll get an official sales update later.

The second figure has been confirmed as correct.

Rebel Heart Midweeks:

Tuesday 20,078

Wednesday 24,965 (+4,887)

Thursday 27,479 (+2,514)

Friday 29,750 (+2,271)

As things stand, Madonna is on course for 34,292 and Sam is on course for 34,074. Comic Relief means Sam is almost definitely going to #1, unless Jonathan Ross Show can help.

That's a shame, especially as KYLIE managed a #1 last year and she did far less promo (granted she had The Voice).

She didn't. :P She was beaten by George Michael who outsold her by double.

As things stand, she's set to just beat Kylie's first week sales. :o
