In terms of acting and scripting, tonight's was easily the best episode of the week.

 

I thought tonight's episode was really good. Leanne gets on my nerves though! I know the actress is really good - and her tears are really convincing - but the character is so annoying! What did she mean when she said Carla was to blame for her losing someone else she loved? I know Carla was driving the car that ran over Stella - but she didn't die? Unless she means Carla's affair with Peter? But to be honest - Leanne is hardly a saint!

 

I really liked Zedan tonight too!

I quite like Leanne but I can see why some would find her annoying. And Peter was the person I had in mind when she said that, but you're right, Leanne's had at least two affairs - Danny Baldwin and Nick Platt! It does make me laugh that, in any soap, the person who cheats always ends up getting cheated on and acts so offended by it as if they'd never do such thing! :lol:

I love her relationship with Roy too, they just work really well together and you really believe their friendship!

I enjoyed the Gail/Michael and Webster stories last night...could have easily done without the Dev stuff though which is why Corrie frustrates me, whenever they have a big story they always add other elements that just aren't necessary

 

I did think

Maddie's death

in the first 10 minutes was treated like an after thought and just felt a bit abrupt

Dev returning is always painful. An extremely boring character that is delivered by an extremely poor actor.

Is Michael still staying in the soap or not following the revelation?

I thought the whole Gandy reveal was brilliant. I love David though 'Haven't you told him yet?' (re Gavin popping his clogs). I've hated this storyline because its been so dragged out and tedious - but the reveal was well worth waiting for - I don't know how all concerned did it with a straight face!

Maddie's death was such an afterthought. I know that Amy Kelly wanted to leave but it feels like they sacrificed Maddie for Sawpheh's character development (Stuart Blackburn had an interview on DS saying she would grow from a "girl to a young woman") which I'm sure will still go nowhere. I'd have preferred it if Sophie drove her away with the Jenny stuff and all her theories, but I guess it adds to Jenny's story that Maddie takes the secret to the grave.

Isn't Sophie in her early 20s now? Surely this growing from a girl to a woman malarkey would have been done years ago?
